A mod for Entrenchment v1.05

This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

Please, if you play this, report back here any balancing problems, particullarly in terms of research.

Okay.  Well, you should update your games (at least update Sins) as updates tend to have bug fixes and balance changes, plus with Sins features are occasionally added.  But you are incapable of running this mod anyways as Impulse will update Sins to 1.181 and Entrenchment to 1.041, which this mod isn't quite updated for yet.

I think this mod is for Entrenchment 1.041.  If you are having issues playing it with a different version other than the latest one, you should upgrade to the recent version. 

 

I suspect Kyogre just forgot to update the OP, but a couple pages back, he does say .085 is for Entrenchment 1.041.

Whoops! I changed it to 1.041 in the subtitle, but you're right, I forgot to change it in the OP. I'll fix that now.

got it working now. This mod is brilliant! especially the soundbytes from the series. only small point the construction frigates are raptors with missile pods and the bombers are raptors without. How difficult would it be for me to change this? I know absolutley nothing about modding sins though.

It wouldn't be too hard, you just have to edit the entity files to make them use different meshes. But be warned, the missile pod raptors are rediculously oversized. I put them in as bombers at one time, and it just kills the imersion. I think they are about the size of the Gemmenon Traveler (scout). But the ones without missile pods are much closer to scale, so those are the bombers for now. Danman was going to resize the missile pod raptor for me, because the mesh resizing tool on the forums doesn't seem to work with 64-bit OS's, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Hey, quick thing - is it possible to play this with the Distant Stars mod, as some of those planets are just like the Colonies, and it would be brilliant to create a proper Twelve Colonies universe :)

As of right now, I don't think so. You can always try to stack them, but I think you will get a crash when you try to enable them both. I've been thinking about merging in either Distant Stars or Sins Plus, but I need to look into DS more, I haven't really played it much, to be honest.

Some new types of planets and stuff would kick ass with this mod :) So far all the interesting planet mods use vanilla races (except 7DS) so this would be a nice change.

Requiem now uses the Sins Plus planets:P Again, I'm looking into it. No garantees, though.

Are you using dial-up to download it? I first used dial-up and it took me twelve hours for it to download and I got a corrupted file.

Don't get me wrong, I hate dial-up. It was only ten bucks a month and I got unlimited hours. But I recently switched to high-speed. So much better. Now I can watch Potter Puppet Pals lol!

No this mod is not dead. The other BSG mod, Sins of Alethia, is dead, but parts of it have been incorperated into this mod.

Since I'm already posting, I might as well give you my plans for Diplomacy. While a lot of Diplomacy's features have yet to be determined, right now I'll probably move to Diplomacy based off of what I've seen so far. I will try to keep a version updated for Entrenchment, but once Diplomacy comes out, the Entrenchment version will only be updated to keep it working with the newest patch. No new features, etc. All of that will be reserved for the Diplomacy version.

That being said, there will be no version that works with beta of Diplomacy. It will likely get updated too quickly for that to be feasable.

Thats nice, do you have, ICQ, Skype or MSN?

 

I working actually on a SoSE BSG-Mod with a friend because i thought every other BSg Mod for Sins is dead.

 

Now i saw that this mod is still active and i think we should work together and bundle the power. :D

Yeah, sorry about that. I've been meaning to reply, but other stuff just keeps coming up. And there's the Diplomacy beta:P

Anyway, to be honest, I already have models for the ships you posted that I am happy with. If you have other stuff, though, I would love to see it.

Oh yes, I have MSN, although I'm not on it very often.

Ok i don't know if you have new models, but i saw the models of the v 0.85 and they don't look very good. They can look much bether. :D I meen your Basestar look like a Toy, had no shaders no normal map ect. my is really like the series.

 

I wouldgive you an example with the Raptor, but i can't import it with 3dsmax. :(

 

Can you make an ICQ or Skype Account? i think it's bether zu communitcate than the forum here.^^

Just so everyone knows, I'm planning a release before Xmas. It's going to be huge, lots and lots of new stuff:P You can consider it my Christmas gift to you:star: Unless you don't celebrate Xmas, in which case, it's my winter gift to you.
