This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

Please, if you play this, report back here any balancing problems, particullarly in terms of research.

Sites like Photobucket are easy enough to use for photos. For actual files, there are a lot of services but I prefer Filefront

i mainly build only capital ship if you play Cylon start whith a basestar and a resurection ship once the ressi reach level 6 it become an huge advantage to the fleet on colonial side same technic i start whith a galactica then build a mercury that i send in the front line to poke the enemy planet and destroy every capital he send me well my technic is mainly on capital ship fleet :P and dont forget to get mass transendance as soon as you can on cylon side ^^

well... i mostly play cylon, first i made 3 stage research to speed up and lower the cost of all research, and worldstar, and cruiser for colonization, next another worldstar, the research for ice and "fire" planet colonization. The trade-base and build in all my planets it, the cylon is mostly about speed and spaming fighters and bombers.

 

the colonial here we play for power, one galactica for start some research, several mercury and research to get jupiter,

the colonial are slow turtle, but beware the cylon JON BOLT ;]

what software you use?? IE, Mozilla, Opera, Chrome, or another?? maybe try download with another, I use Opera and i download the file without error.

o i also got another suggestion i dunno for the other but me i hate old series model so if you have enough model and time you could create 2 cylon race and 2 colonial race the old generation and the new generation so a total of 4 race

just my tought ^^

 

btw did you liked my model compilation?

Well in Homeworld 2 mod is something like that, the old vs the new.

Stratigies for me as colonial galactica, Pegasus a few escorts then jupiter or other battlestars pretty much.

Most of my strat is for Cylons, I mainly use Basestars with worldstars and guardians as back up with bomber support.

for me nothing withstand 20 worldstars  :cylon:  and some another CAP, in fact the only ship that isn't CAP and I use it is colonization ship. I never use gamas.

Honestly I hate having to use worldstars because they aren't part of the original lore. Also they are a little boxey looking to me. They don't look organic enough, needs more rounded edges.

itscause actually if im right the world star is suposed to be a station in a freelancer mod i tryed a worldstar was like 10 time bigger than the basestar so in my opinion they should use the worldstar as the star base and keep the hub for reâir roleor they can also use the colony i just sended them as a starbase ^^

Ok, I typed up this huge response to many of the questions/comments here, but then I accidently hit the "back" button on my mouse, and it was lost. So here it goes again.

Increasing the speed of phase jumps, in the series a jump is instantaneous and I'm fairly certain that phase jump speed can be changed to at least be ridiculously fast.

This is on my list of things to look at for the Diplo version.

Next, I think that having a technology that can be researched by both parties that allow capitals to initiate a phase jump from anywhere in a grav well would be fairly nifty, I would put it in the middle to late tier for research and it would be similar to the (Vasari I think) ability that allows one to phase jump further inside the grav well, just completely instead of slightly inside.

Doesn't work, I've tried. That research doesn't actualy change the location they can jump from, it changes the size of the gravity wells. Placing structures sucks when you have a tiny/non-existant GW. Plus, the ships still have to move to the side of the planet facing the target, and they still have to turn to face the target.

Also, I think that the ion bolt ability should be an AOE ability rather than a single target, affecting all enemy targets within a certain range that increases with level along with the duration.

Also on my to-do list.

The flak gun ability on the BSG I think should be more prevalent as well, such as it being faster to recharge and possibly less anti-matter.

How flak/strikecraft work may potentially change in the new version. I still have to test some ideas out before I know for sure how it will work.

1st: the worldstar is suposed to be way bigger than this like 5 to 10 time bigger than the BaseStar

I don't know what you mean by "supposed to." It's a fanmade ship, there aren't any stats for it.

3rd: please by the god change the jupiter design im 100% whith the idea but is design is bad as hell really sorry i didnt want to offence is creator

Calling the design "bad as hell" is offensive, I hate to tell you. And personally I like it. It isn't the most BSG-themed design, but it works and it looks good. If you think you can do better, I welcome you to try to model+texture your own, and maybe I'll use it.

And speaking of models, I'm skeptical of those ones you posted. They don't appear to be yours. Do you have permission to give them out? Do other people have permission to use them?

atm its only to give you exmaple ill ask the model ownner if they are willing to let otehr use them but ill bet yes

 

and for the wordstar size just use logic how a smaller ship can hold tons more fighter lol

Yes I did, and that is exactly why I'm skeptical that you can be giving them out, and that I have permission to use them. Have you talked with the creators of these mods? Are they ok with other people using their work?
