Yes i'm frustrated, yes i'm very unhappy, yes it's a shame you released a game in this condition (alpha)

it takes me 3 hours of searching each night to play 1 or 2 games.

unbelievable you can release a game like that, sorry to say it

but this is netcode of 1998 imo, i've been patient and i've installed 100 patches of this game but still the same problem as before

no wonder Atari is in big money problems atm, you release a game with alpha netcode

sorry but somebody has to say it right?

I see all people being frustrated in the lobby with "no connecting" problems all night long, there have been a few patches released but look at the threadcount of the technical support forum and you'll see how many people are having problems with this game

I wouldn't dare calling this game in beta condition when i look at the problems to play a decent game online

I have no clue why they post video's and stuff about upcoming heroes while 90% of the players have problems to play online...

Fix your problems please, it's a shame to throw this game away just because this netcode was written by some drunk old farts who didn't even test the game outside their office.  "we have no problems" they say, ok good for you, but we DO have lot's of problems

announcements with "now we see that almost everybody can play games online"??? I have no clue where you get those stats?

I'm sorry, i'm very pissed, this is the worst experience in my whole life to play a game online

never seen this before and we are 2009 now

Opening a few ports to play a game, yes you need to do that for some other games too that's normal, but the problems most of us have with trying to play a game online it's UNACCEPTABLE n/o

sorry for the rude words but somebody has to say this so Stardock, of whoever is responsible for this shitty netcode, can open their eyes and come up with a sollution that might work for most of us

yes i'm pissed, i've wasted like 100 hours to find some decent games, that's unacceptable and you know that

Also, just read around the forum a bit. You might find a post that can help you.

While i may disagree with some parts of your post. The last part about the forums being slow is also true. I mean come on, the game is buggy and so are the forums, good luck stardock and GPG, your going out of buisness soon

What browsers are you 2 using? There was an incident on Thursday because they were doing something with the forum, but I'm using FF and the forums are fine for me most of the time.....

i've been emailing with the support departement a few times, i've been posting my problems and i've read too many problems of others

the game might work good for you, be happy with it, but for many many others it doesn't...

lol 90% of people have problem?

Myabe at first but now it work verry well. And for those who it doesnt, it because they have shitty router / firewall / hardware.

Get a normal router and configure it correctly / latest firmware updates and you wont have problem.

Also try geting into IRC. If you see me there I may try to help you with your config setting and see if we can isolate the problem

So it's almost 1 month that I have problems with this game. They solved my problem so i could connect to 50% of the people. So i thought "ok now i have the problems like many other problems, they will solve this very soon"

but no, 5 patches further, still the same problems

Wagnard, you are not the only person who can configure a router. I think I did it all fine.

Also I have an Intel core I7 Extreme, so I don't think my hardware will cause any problems. At least it doesn't for ALL other games I'm playing.

I'm desperate :(:(:(

Also, we bought this game with 3 friends. 1 of them hasn't been able to play 1 game online and the other one threw the game away because he saw too many blue screens with his windows 7.

sux, i though i found a replacer for DotA, doesn't look like it tbh now.

Why P2P anyway? Bnet of Blizzard is on servers too and causes no problems at all?

Perharps because they are logging things on their side to see what happen and trying to identify various problems. BTW, where have you got the 90% numbers?

Cornuu, play custom games.  It is much easier to get into a game that way.  Just play with people with less than 200 ms and you'll be fine

Another problem, when i use the parameter /serverproxyonly then most people connect to me with a ping of +350 and I get kicked from every single game

I've CONSTANTLY been playing 2v1 games becuase matchmaking SUCKS.  And 2v2 games aren't fun either, which leaves unranked custom games which has ragequitters becuase record means nothing.  

 

Stardock is failing hard.

if you really need 3 hours to get into a game, that must be a problem on your side.

I think you configured something wrong.

Try the "Networking and Demigod" Guide by Monk, follow it step-by-step, after I did that everything worked fine and I can connect to 99% of the other players.

Just search the forum for the Guide or use google and you should find it.

BSODs are 99.5+% because of hardware or driver failure. Probably some of his hardware doesn't have a good driver for windows 7 yet. I also run W7 and have never seen a BSOD. People tend to see 1 thing and blame it on whatever they see or do at that moment. That is not always the case. Remember Vista? Every noob with an internet connection was complaining about it, while in reality 90% of the problems were just because the _hardware manufacturers_ failed to make good drivers for them.

Oh, you whiners.

True, Demigod has connection issues and it's important to let them know... but exaggerating the problems and cussing about it won't make them fix that noticably quicker.

They are pretty dedicated and they are working on it ... GPG and Stardock both.

The unfriendly aproach can be applied to companies that regularily screw their customers sideways, say JoWood or EA. SD has a pretty good track record so grant them a little slack.
