Complaining about doubles is scrubby

Complaining about doubles is scrubby

In a perfect world all competitive games would have blind select by default but it seems most simply havn't caught on. Who you choose for your team is really no business of your oppenent until the match begins, unless sitting in the lobby constantly cycling through demigods to prevent counter classing sounds like a good time to you.

With that being said I often see a lot of people complaining about choosing "doubles" or having 2 of the same demigod.

Why people feel it's okey to synergize with demigods like oak and sedna or any other strong combo is okey but choosing two of the same god is not.

Combos have themes, survivability, burst, harssament, push, aoe, etc etc

If you're going to stack your team to take advantage of this I should be able to stack mine to counter this (not that i should be able to see who you're choosing anyway)

For example if there's a QOT on their team you can bet they're going to be shield spamming, so two TB's for burst is a solid counter but oh no that's forbidden! because they're the same god? WTF.

There are only 8 charcters atm people, to use themed combos they're going to be doubles sometimes.

I know we all have nightmares of getting triple sniped by regulus trios but stragies that multiply a characters strengths also multiply it's weaknesses,

I know people hate to adapt or deviate from "The Plan" in their builds but when I hear talk like this it just reminds me of people who complain about fireball spamming in Street Fighter or how throws are cheap because people can't sit in their comfy down block all day anymore

Thoughts?

I consider it whining, sometimes two people just want to play the same demigod.   But I will usually change my demigod just to be kosher and not have to deal with a rage quit later on in game.

I find it funny I played a game against a premade team of 4 where all of them used move debuff items right away and used synergy in the different demigods they chose but none the less in the lobby they told my team to get read of its double because they were scared of its synergy.

The long term fix would be... add like 10 more hero or w/e they are in power of doing

and add mode like all random.. or only be able to pick one of a kind

like in Dota

easy enough

I think that one solution right now is to just be friendly about it.  Its kind of silly to be hyper competitive about random pickup games right now when there is so much rage quitting, stats dont mean anything, and there is no ladder or meaningly ranking system.

If somebody wants to double up, just talk to them nicely and make sure that there is no strategy or VOIPing going on.  Then you can agree to allow it and its all good.  Only try and prevent things if its clear that somebody has some kind of lame strategy ready.  If somebody tricks you, well, that just happnes sometimes and remember their names.

That said, I dont think there is ever an excuse for having more than 2 of a DG on a team.

There ARE some lame things you can do right now with stacked DGs.  But they only really working if its a premade with good coordination.

Excuse me? double reg in a 3vs3 on cataract is near unkillable. They mine the entie map so quickly you won't even be able to unmine it, even if you buy the minotaurs and the siege archers idols to unmine the zone. And while you wait for your pets to suicide on the mines, they snipe you to death. Sorry, the game was simply nor meant to be played like that on most maps. Too many demigods rely on that ONE skill that makes them good (rook towers, mines, shields...)

I think you should be able to choose whichever Demi's you want, if something combined together is too powerful (say reg snipe for instance) then maybe a balance change could be made to restrict the number of snipes on an enemy demi so that they could only get hit once per 5 seconds or whatever would be balanced.

Both my good friend IRL and me like to play TB, we both play him completly differently and by both choosing him we in now way over power our team.  We have some strengths and have some weaknesses.  We dont use voice chat and we by no means are dominating randoms.  Yet I've had random people in games say "no dups", I generally change to a demigod I'm not as good with, then that same person complains when we lose and they were the worst player on the team.  I've played against 3 rook teams on Prison, wasn't a very close match, but it was funny.  Custom games have all sorts of things that can happen, I think when there are ranked match's that actually count then those should be the ones with restricitons, if anything.
