The problem was they could stand practically in healing range and mow down reinforcements indefinitely.

Yup.  Precisely this. 

It was incredibly tedious being forced to travel halfway across the map to heal up over and over again while they sidestipped a few paces to to completely recharge while farming massive gold and exp off of my nearly fully upgraded double valor giant waves with ease.

I've talked to several people that said they registered, so hopefully we'll get a nice turn out.  Any official word on when we are getting started?  I believe it was supposed to be this week, but I haven't been notified of anything.  Thanks!

Hey all!

 

was away in NJ/NYC over the weekend and im back today at work.  I will be counting and assembling registrations tonight.  Checking pings tomorrow and probably wednesday depending on people's availability for ping checking.  Then i can put out the pairings! First games should be happening thursday and friday.

Yay! Lets hope work schedules don't cause too many forced forfeits for people (*start checking vacation time built up:S *). I would much prefer to outright loose a game than have to forfeit (and I'm pretty sure I will outrite loose most). Hopefully we can maintain a competitive but friendly atmosphere with the tourny too.

It looks like some emails have been sent out regarding this.  Here is the info in the email:

Hey guys,

I'm sorry that things are running behind the schedule i posted on the forums.  We wont be able to get started this week. However i can tell you the structure of the tournament:

We have 8 teams, so we will have three rounds of competition.  A night with 4 matches, then two matches, then the finals.

Over half the players are from outside the US.  This may cause some trouble when setting up matches, i might have to deviate from the "completely random" plan and attempt to do pairings based partially on geography so that everybody who registered will have a chance to play.   However, for the Europeans, i know that 7pm is a somewhat awkward time so it could be possible to schedule it slightly earlier for your matches!

Onto business!
For those of you outside the US, I would like to check your ping early next week.  I would like to do it this coming Monday and Tuesday October 12 or 13.  Is there anybody that can NOT join a Demigod game either the 12th or 13th of this coming week?  It could be anytime from 6pm EST until 1pm EST.  

That about wraps it up for this announcement, next week we'll have our brackets out and have our first round of matches!! :D
