do u pay for ur beta key or do they just hand it out to u? and 2ndly do u know the size of it?

I didn't pay for my beta key of LoL, and I think it was around 500 megs.

Just looked up a couple screenshots for LoL, why the hell does it look like it runs on the WC3 engine? It literally has the graphics of dota.

Um. It's made by the DotA team.  That pretty much explains the visual similarity.

The basic graphics work both for and against it - they ensure the maximum number of machines can use it, much in the same way as the Warcraft 3 Engine was designed, however it's aiming far too low on the spectrum of machines and it's going to alienate a large portion of the market.

HoN actually has fairly decent graphics, I like the grass and ability effects in particular - however neither change the fact that they are both DotA re-born. They bring little to nothing additional to the table - if I wanted to play DotA, I'd reinstall WC3 and it's expansion pack and download it for free because they are both that similar to DotA.

Demigod does something different with the formula, however because success isn't determined from APM it doesn't appear to the usual Blizzard game crowd that LoL and HoN are aiming to capture.

I'm pretty far from the blizzard crowd and HoN captured me /shrug. And HoN is more DotA 2.0 with unique chars and some changes, but also many many multiplayer feature improvements. LoL is similar but quite different from DotA/HoN actually.

Demigod is crap. Both LoL and HoN are far better than it. I only post here because I saw this thread after I came to see if any new heroes had been released for Demigod. If Demigod had 20 more heroes then MAYBE it would be worth it. As it is now Demigod was a total waste of money. Me and all my friends regret buying Demigod. I asked for a refund but because I waited too long for new heroes to come out, they won't give me it.

...If you wanted more heroes, why did you buy demigod to start with?  They were pretty forthcoming about there being 8.

once again this debate...theres more diversity in demigods 8 heroes then there are in dotas how ever many.... now i havnt played dota or HoN but that seems to be the many many discussions through this forum and that seems to be the conclusion...so as i said b4...if u would of read....is that if demigod wanted they could make 40 characters change the visuals on them change the names of skills and woola theres ur "diversity" (they would be the same dgs just with new names new looks same skills/stats.....)

By the looks of things the only thing that could be in competition is HoN, and even then.... they look like 2 different games so im sure people would play both not just one...as i already know many(4-7 without looking through my friends list) who do both... now i know people are spiteful and i know one person who has quit all together because the updates for DG havnt been fast and are not fixing many issues...and ill agree this is where DG fails is in putting money into fixing bugs/getting the game perfected...as i said b4 HoN seems to be doing the opposite its still in beta and i havnt seen many complaints on the forums (valid complaints)....

last thing said DG is so addictive for me i just wish it was more stable on my telstra wireless connection so i could do more games while im on the ship at work.

I disagree.  Each DG has two, and some maybe have three, viable builds that players gravitate to.  There are certainly more paths available, but they don't get used because they don't work well.  So what's the difference between one DG, with two flavors, versus two HoN or LoL heroes?

I also disagree with the balance statement.  Some DGs are stronger than others, and some teams of DGs are stronger than others.  The same is true for HoN and LoL.  You have to think when you compose your team, and when you go toe-to-toe with another hero.  Having played roughly 100 games on LoL now, I think it's quite well balanced.

ah little kids dont know how to research games before impulsivlely buying them boo hoo and have you ever heard quality over quantity i played around 5 LoL games and watched my friend play around 10-12 with his brother and their friends on vent.... every game they played the same chars and so did the opposing team so must be some great balance and diversity with its HUGE cast of characters/sarcasm

LoL graphics r shitty yes. But game play and fetures are amazing, takes under a minute to get a game going, UNDER A MINUTE!!!!

All u gotta do is get past the graphics then the game is awesome with NO LAG AND NO DISCONNECTS WHAT SO EVER!!!

I was once a demigod player, the best in AUS, and now, i play LoL and im kicken ass in that game also

lol the best in aus?...blowing ur own trumpet there ryan...u were a premade gamer and when ever u did play pug u got owned u lost just as many to me as i lost to u... blowiing ur own trumped is never good. anyone wants proof of this simply look up games from EPOCH 1...any games his one are stacked check the stats...and when he has a decent team to vs looses more then often....if demigods so shit ryan, why u still on the forum? never met a gamer that so full of him self...

So to the guys up top who say that HoN is just 40 copy and paste characters. Your completely wrong. Everyone one is HoN's characters are voiced and animated. They all have unique abilties and stats. Almost none of them have anything in common. Now the negative is that each hero does not have that much diversity in leveling. You pretty much know how a player is going to play a Bloodhound, and how another player is going to play a Scout. But, from my experiance HoN doesn't have ANY connection issues. The only thing about it is that the combat is pretty quick. A whole 5v5 fight can be over in less than 30 seconds. Anyway just my two cents.

Btw I bought this computer for D3... but if I were you I wouldn't keep holding my breath. There isn't even a street date yet so I'm sure we still have a solid year before that comes out.

id b nice if u checked through every1 of my games, see just who it is i premade with and let me & the rest of the community know to make ur argument just, casue i never pre made with any1 ever, i had ppl i liked on my team but if i vsed them it didnt bother me at all, ffs man i had ANTIX on my team alot of the time, i complained as a joke but still would play not just RQ straight away,  and see out of all the games i did loose, whether or not i had the highest score in the match.

Mix u have always premade and the amount of times u join game rooms complain about the teams then leave are countless.

Why i still post is cause i do check if these 2 promised gods have arrived which im never really suprised as they never are, i do dream though....

I just skimmed the last page of this thread, so apologies if this has been covered... but why would anyone choose LoL over HoN if you were bailing on Demigod?  I'm not a huge fan of either L or H, but I think its clear that HoN is better than LoL.
