Plz don't die out DG!

Damn it!  This game has the best animations, music, sound effects, voices, humor... everything!  I'm getting bored and I know it's coming up on "that time".  Wish they'd open source it so we could put new DGs, items, etc in there.

My other beloved, Company of Heroes, was the same.  Best game in it's class, but as time wore on, the lack of patches and just plain short attention span of normal gamers shrunk the community to a small, but hardcore group.  The game becomes stale, with nothing new to stir it up, upset the most efficient (and most used) strategies.

 

Going to go cry while I download League of Legends to try...

Holy F*@#, League of Legends is stupid.  I can overlook the cartooniness of it, but the magic is WoW type, it's all the same stuff, nothing unique.  Items are ok.  Gameplay sucks.  Chasing an enemy is pointless, you'll run after him for 2mins straight due to the map size.  Not catch him, then run from creeps for 2 mins back to your lines.

Voices suck.  Sound sucks.  Characters kinda-suck, more WoW'ish, but I guess that's a genre.

Nothing can top TB's "smells like bacon!" with his awesome animations, drifting on currents of air.

Yeah, you naturally suck for the first few games (through no fault of your own) because you'll have no runes, and everyone you'll be playing against does ^^

I play twitch or blitzcrank mostly.  They are quite easy to exploit.

You think this game is a step down from DG...wait till you try HoN :P

dude, i've played games like demigod before(where not many people play), they just don't die for a really long time, sure it's a small community but the people who really like the game and are true fans of it will keep playing for years,(some, not all), i played  a game that was dead (no more than 50 players at a given time) for 3 whole years and still had a great experience

Here here.  I don't play as often, but I still do get in quite a few games.  I swear I won't be playing this anymore when star craft 2 comes out, but I'd bet money I'm wrong.

yea, when you get interested in another game, then sometimes if you really like it then you'll quit a game you previously liked or you won't play it as often. for me though there were no other pc games that i liked so i just kept playing that one game for so long until demigod and a few others came out and now i rarely play it.

I don't think it will die out.  Seems one can still get a game together just about anytime online.  I just got an email for Total Annihilation on Impulse!  And it is still played on a server called WarZone, among others, as far as I know...  Probably just core gamers (pun intended) from 1997, but it still gives some hope for a game that's not even officially one year old.

Don't know... was playing, or trying to play the other day... just feels like I'm at a party I should have left a lot earlier.

Just me and a few other people helping throw away beer cans.  I'll miss you guys when its finally done... but I'll be whooping Pacov's ass at Star Craft 2 by then so no worries.

Anyone who ever played with him on Vent ever notice he sounds a lot like the E-Trade Baby?

I recently came back to DG after a two month hiatus.  I gotta say, I doubt my stay will be long.  Since it seems that no further patches are forthcoming for this game I can't see sticking around since many of the things that need fixing won't ever happen now.  After just a few days of being back I'm already sick of flag lock wars and sigil spamming (and yes, I'm guilty of both).  But you know what I'm really sick of?  Fucking Cataract.  It's gotten so damn old and it's all that gets played really.

I think the thing with games that last forever and never really die is that they actually work.

If these super laggy games persist with random dcs it's simply not going to be worth the effort.

You can also add Silence and Despair. He's my co-leader on guildwars we also play this game too.  We'd both be willing to play and hang out/help out.  We have a vent server also if you'd care to join us. i'll be on in a few hours after i get home from work
