sometimes you just need to step away and try and have a normal life and not go nuts. Facebook is one click away.

Actually, one WinStep away.

WC isn't Winstep or face book either, you know.

You want to contact him, you were told how.

I know where Facebook is.  Which, of course, is not the point.  I didn't join Winstep to play with Facebook.

What I said and what Seth just reaffirmed...If you have a problem with something and want to try and get it solved go to face book...send Jorge a message and wait. And you didn't join Winstep to play with WinCustomize...yet here you are. X|

That's funny right there..... :D

Jorge has been sent messages.  On Winstep.  Where it's supposed to be.  I come here because Winstep will not respond.  I was told how?  Winstep told me how.  Which has been proven not to be true.  Yet here we are.  Why?  This is where Jorge will read it.  He doesn't read his own website.

What part of FACEBOOK didn't you understand or just chose to ignore. Is it THAT freakin hard to go to facebook!? Seriously?

On second thought....DON'T go to facebook.

Again, you miss the point.  Is it that freakin hard to go to your own website?  Seriously?  Grow up.

Want answers, or just to vent?

Your just not happy unless you have something to whine about...and you have the nerve to tell me to grow up? PLEASE....DO NOT go to facebook OR click on the link that Seth almost posted. We were just kidding...neither suggestion will get you any answers.

I take it you also didn't join WinCustomize to complain about Winstep.

You're right.  I didn't.  But complaining about Winstep at Winstep did no good.  And Jorge always answers here.

And Jorge always answers here.

But as you can clearly see...not always

Jorge was in this thread in 2013. You wanna wait a year, or go to where he is? ;P

As Mark Twain once said, reports of my death are greatly exaggerated. :)

As for me having been away from Winstep in the last year, yes, it's true. It started with me needing to get away from Winstep for a while as I was burning out due to working too hard, and ended in one of the worst years of my life (which included, among other really nasty things, an accident where I broke the tibial plateau of my left leg).

Anyway, I've been working nearly non-stop on Winstep for the last 15 years (!) and we all need to get away from time to time. Brad also took a Sabbatical year from Stardock some time ago and Stardock is still here - the major difference being that Winstep is only me, so my absence is a lot more visible. :)

A hiatus period similar to this happened once before and Winstep came back stronger than ever, so hold on to your pants.

Thing is with Facebook, not everybody trusts itand would rather not go there... and with good reason.  Too many privacy concerns have raised over the years and I had to go to extremes to stop dozens of daily emails... read spam, from them.  And I only went there once

For mine, Facebook should be avoided because it is completely untrustworthy and far worse than Google.  So yeah, I agree with Greg about not going there.

Not sure what you guys do when you go to facebook...but in all the years I have gone there...not once have I ever had any problems or received emails of any kind from a result of visiting there. But yeah....don't visit there. o_O

I can't go there.  I'm not a fourteen-year-old girl.

Greg...Facebook is just one mouse click away from Winstep...is that to far for you? Keep in mind that Jorge has been solely responsible for the idea of...coding of...and production and continuing development of Winstep. He has been at it for years and he has tons of people hounding him daily over little things while trying to keep focus on all of that...and sometimes you just need to step away and try and have a normal life and not go nuts. Facebook is one click away. ;)

Giz... In all fairness...

Jorge chooses to be a solo act. I'm pretty sure he's been offered big $$ for Winstep but has chosen to remain solo.

However... That does not excuse abandonment ( unless emergency declares it... ). There is still a responsibility to your paying customers.

If you choose to ignore them, then so be it. One is free to make that choice when one has chosen to be a solo act. But CHOOSE one or the other!!!

Now, Greg is well stated that Jorge seems to respond here before he does in his own kingdom. I've seen it several times. Cut him some slack. He's pissed with justification I suspect, and has come to the known lair of his beast to piss in his cave for reasons not yet known. Let him pass his scent before passing your own on him...

My last word on this subject is this.

Not long ago, I hade some problems with skinning Winstep. I caught Jorge on FB and got my answer in less than 10 minutes.

Like Giz, I do Facebook, but I do not do games, apps, etc. I keep contact with family who aren't nearby.

I have never had an email from or about Facebook. Sure, if you don't apply the correct settings, you'll get notifications by email everytime a friend says hello to another friend. I turned all that crap off.

Good luck, Greg.  ;)

I won't cut anyone 'some slack'.

Stardock's forums are not the place for disparaging comments aimed towards VERY well-respected members of the skinning/customizing fraternity, no matter how 'pissed' someone might be.

'man up' is inappropriate.

If I were Jorge and had someone [customer or not] insult me in such fashion I'd make a point of NOT responding.

That's right. Anyone who disagrees with you is somehow less than your genius level. Close...but not quite.

One question: Do you have a problem with the software? If not, why are you bitching?

You getting less than you think you deserve? You were told what to do to get in touch with Jorge.

The only reason this is going on endlessly is for your efforts to force something on your terms or to keep trying to bash Jorge.
