New poll

Please vote on the new poll (Star Control vs. Master of Magic). It's actually kind of important to get an idea which of these two games people want to see remade. Please let others know about the poll so we can get a wide sampling.

Thanks.

MoM. My daughter would play it too.

Wasn't "Elemental" supposed to be a "Master of Magic"-type game?

MoM!! I still play that from time to time (with DOSBox it even runs under XP) - if the sequel is good, I guess I would even buy it several times just to be on the safe side (you know, the CD might just vaporize or something.) ;p

Star Control 2 is one of my favourite games EVER - definitely the most memorable! (One word - FRUNGY! ;p )

If you're thinking of making a pure strategy game, or just doing a graphical update of an old game, my vote could go either way. But, since you said you're talking about a full-blown sequel... go StarCon2!!! (We are talking about 2, right? Not SC1 or 3?)

Btw, for the folks out there who haven't played it, there's a fan-made port that works on modern computers at:

For increasing the user number of Stardock I would go for MoM.

Personally I would go for SC but I see more future if you go MoM

Both!!! I own both games. Love to see a new version now that we have kick butt graphics cards and high powered computers. Sure would beat the heck out of 80286 w/ EGA :CONGRAT:

One thing I will hold you to. Innovation. It has to be a sequel by adding new stuff, not just a fluffy manual with good stories and stunning graphics. [We'll just assume you Stardock folks new this already since you made GalCiv ] Graphics adds a lot but new items, new spells, new monsters, new interface.. etc. One of my favorite things was being able to choose races and what type of caster I played as. Also the item editor was great.

Star Control... Hmm like previous posters said depends on what you do with it.. Going for a Strategy game or RPG? I loved SC2 and appreciated the SC2 like events to download in the GalCiv library. :HOT:

I have never played any of these games. However, i know that MoM is a classic in strategic gaming and was brought by Simtex (MOO 1 & 2). That kind of game (despite the fact that i don't like so much fantasy in games) is my favorite.
Star control seems also nice but very different. However i think that that Stardock has already one great game set in space. I think that another one would make people think of Stardock as a only Science-Fiction Company.

I want neither of them. I want a remade "Master of Orion" But the 1st installment... with sliders and no micromanagement. Remove the Bugs, improve AI and UI and you'd hava a game I'd want to play all the day! LOL

Master of Magic. Please make the Spell of Mastery an option. BTW I'll get a Drengin.net acct for this one. And buy it in the store ;)

DosBox. It's an free, open source x86 old Dos emulator. Been discussed on these forums before. Works fantastic. You will need to study up on the mount command to be able to use a NTFS, but other then that... ;)
