Alright you might stardock gurus, I know that Windows x64 is still in beta, but I was wondering what sort of support is available with stardock products on x64. I installed windowblinds on my x64 box successfully, but it does not skin anything. It changes to classic windows view and alters the colors, but no skins. I have searched everywhere I can think of and no one seems to have this problem. Is it me or is it just one of those things that will w

As I update to the latest beta of DesktopX, I thought of what it was like when I first used DesktopX. Constantly crashing, having to save my work every 2 minutes for fear of losing what I had done. Now, it may crash on weird occasions when working on an object, but mostly it is very forgiving now. And it is more powerful. Good job Stardock!!!
Went smooth for me too. Updated fine, kept all my customizations.
Me bad. Just looked up the virus on Symantec, advice just what you are doing. Turn off system restore, update virus software and delete.
A lot of times a virus cannot be deleted because it is in the system restore. Some people advise turning that off if you are cleaning out a virus. Of course, you will lose all your restore points. Goodmorphing, what a gr
Great post. However, some of the people that should read and take this to heart, somehow always believe that they are in the right and the rest of the world is wrong.
Very good article. Very well written. Though some have commented that you are just speaking the "Party Line", I do not believe so. You have captured the essence of what has gone on in the last 3 to four years, and have pointed out the main difference between these two candidates. Character. Many can debate policies and actions of a president, many are just arm chair commanders that think they know better than the people doing the job. Character,
Thanks Chris. It was annoying me quite a bit. It is amazing that little things like that can drive you NUTS. Wonder why it happened. I participate in many of the Betas on this site, and never had that happen. Thanks again.
Hmmm. Stardock Central said there was a new version, number 1.05, so I updated it. But it still says that 1.04k is installed even after updating. I rebooted with the same effect. I get no error messages during the update, and it says it completes successfully, but it does not change the version number in Stardock Central, and every time I open SDC it asks me to update. Anyone else having this problem? <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=
Way cool for a beta program. Couple of issues, nothing I can't work around. Look forward to next build. My only suggestions are better integration with DesktopX and IconX and save/load feature. Great job.
Has anger issues also. Most people relate the problem and wait for advice, planetHope has already lost hope in the situation. Makes people less inclined to help I would say,
That is an odd thing, something else must be causing it. I have had both RC's of SP2 along with the final, and the only problem I had was on RC1 with toolbar icons, and that has been fixed. I would do as other suggested, remove windowblinds and reinstall.
There is one available on the Net that is suppose to be it, but it is not digitally signed. I will be patient.
Very pleased with ObjectDock Plus, it is almost exactly what I wanted out of ObjectDock from the beginning. Never was quite satisfied with ObjectDock, I would run it for a while, then give it up, and always wanting more. Good job guys.
I created an objectbar not to replace my taskbar, but to supplemnt it. It works fine, and is set to use the current wimdowblind skin. The only issue is that some skins, such as Luna-HoE the text in the menu is a bad color. The menu porttion of the ObjectBar uses the menu skin from window blinds. Where would I find that text color in SkinStudio? Many WB skins it does work fine, so I am sure it is the WB Skin, I am just not that familiar with WB skin manipulation. Thanks for whatever
Well I'll be hornswaggled. IconX is there just like you said, never looked that close. Maybe I have purged Kerry and Bush after all.
What happened to IconX? I reinstalled my system due to corruption, I think Kerry or Bush did it but I am not sure, and I installed the new beta 2.19i of DesktopX. I discovered there is no IconX anymore? Does not upset me since I rarely use it anyway, and I cannot remember a theme that I downloaded that used it either. I assume it is not just me, or maybe Bush and Kerry are still in my machine!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I do not expect anyone to know what it is, it is just baffling. Never had a problem like this, I am scanning for viruses, and will do some maintenace see if that solves the problem, but I doubt it. Nothing that uses windows XP Performance Data Handler in regards to network is working, but my network is fine, as is internet.
Part of the problem, is when I try to configure the dock, the network adapters do not show. I know how it should be done, done it many times, and it does not show network adapters. If I configure the dock, I go to configure meters, upload and configure, and under PDH meter it used to have an item for network adapters, I that then go on from there. In the configure PDH the network stuff does not appear.
Do not usually ask for help, but I have no clue where to go on this one. Just noticed this afternoon that my ObjectDock that I use a SysStat object to monitor internet traffic is just showing "-0", not "0" but "-0". Tried using some objects in DesktopX that monitor net traffic, and same results, nothing monitored. When I go to configure using either ObjectDock or DesktopX, the Performance Data Handler shows no net items to . Normaly I could Network Adapaters and I can then which one to mon
Maybe I am naive, or do not have a clue, but why would someone leave a nasty immature comment on a skin? What would be the point? It is not like a skin is a piece of spyware that screws up your computer. If you don't like it, just let the skinner know, that would be what I would do. Hmmm...It seems this guy needs a technician. He seems also a little sensitive about his computer. Sometimes it is best to let go of the past and move on.
Nor can the software.
Yep...So True. And those wee percentages they only barely understand and causes great amounts of stress when they attempt to do them. Resulting in hours of labor, cussing and swearing out the manufacturer the whole time.
Well ... sometimes.
