MrPerky has suffered a nervous breakdown caused by a long term decline in mental health, particularly depression and anxiety. Thank you for reading and responding to my articles, but I will no longer be posting. Now it's time to go watch some movies about waterfalls with pretty music. Bye. -- MrPerky <!-- Ju-Anchor-Foot

I've tried the Edge and I liked it. Maybe even a little better than the C2, but then I'm a Pepsi fan anyway. It seemed just about right in terms of taste. Pepsi One - No reason for this product -- another sweetener ? Pepsi Edge - Let's phase out straight Pepsi and leave this one. Diet Pepsi - Caffeine free version rocks. This is the ultimate no cal, no carb, no caffeine soft drink. Pepsi Vanilla - have to have a competitor to va
Jay - There are issues with ADD symptoms that need attentionoutside of positive social and educational outcomes. I mostly want to have a semblance of a normal life instead of being distracted all the time. The distractions force me to hyperfocus constantly or else risk losing my job for non-performance. ADD exists outside of children. -- MrPerky
>>Unfortunately, the NIH, in their consensus statement, state that >>while stimulant medications reduce core symptoms, they don't >>improve educational or social outcomes for ADD / ADHD sufferers. Claritin reduces the core symptoms of my allergy attacks, but doesn't improve my educational or social outcomes. Should I stop taking it? My point being that educational or social outcomes are not the only measures of the effic
Gideon MacLeish - Thanks for your comment. I sought largely to speak about the diagnosis process for ADD with this article. Another article I am currently working on will speak to treatment options, physical, dietary, procedural, and pharmacological.
As an adult with ADD, I get frustrated when people doubt me. Let me make a couple of points: Does ADD/ADHD need more research? * Yes Does medication help to alleviate ADD symptoms? * Yes Are Doctors receiving illicit payments to falsely diagnose ADD and then to prescribe medications for it? * Possibly. No different than other conditions or medications, however. America has a long history of quack medicine. Has th
BakerStreet - Dr. Amen has done some interesting studies with MRI, but these studies are looked at somewhat poorly by many psychiatric organizations. This area is still too kne, and the equipment and processes also, to have much study done. However, the anecdotal evidence is quite strong. Please read some of my other articles, particularly The ADHD Conspiracy. I certainly can see where some drug companies might look to capitalize on the dis
http://www.amightywind.com/hell/hellindex.htm Wow, that was truly wierd !
Bill Gates have donated biillions of money so far, and you still say he haven't given enough money to causes? Bill Gates has caused much more than billions of dollars in damage through lost produtivity, data loss, and psychiatric bills by continuing to push his Office and Windows softwares with security
Was this your personal computer? Hooked up to the internet via cable modem or DSL? And now the most important question... Did you have a firewall? A hardware one? In this day it is imperative to have a firewall (preferably a hardware one, IMHO). This will keep out 99.99% of the bad things that attack your computer uninvited. A hardware firewall is $50-$75 at the local Best Buy (comes as part of a router). Maybe $25.00 for the local computer geek
Healthy. I want healthy. Too much weight seems unhealthy. A little weight does not appear unhealthy. Too thin is unhealthy. I want a girl (and mine is like this...) that is healthy -- has clear eyes, a clear mind (no drugs, smoking, and preferably no drinking), clear skin, and glowing with life and health. Pregnant women are some of the prettiest women for this very reason. Please note that I did not say anything about short, tal
There's been a lot in the news lately about the comment from VP Cheney. This has caused me to focus on the issue of swearing, but not particularly what he said. Cheney's remark in significant only in that it was said while in session - a place considered to be a bit more genteel than his expletive. So, what's wrong with cursing? My high school English teac
Sometimes monkeys fly out of my ass, but it's really not that magical. . Why is there no way to post anonymously?
I'm unsure of how it came down, but your description seems to indicate that she lied to you about the reason for the low grade. That seems pretty egregious in itself. Just an observation. --MrPerky
Madine, I have to disagree again My choice to elect a woman is based on the presumption that women are better leaders and are less susceptible to good-old-boy networking. That presumption is based on personal experiences and on educated reading. A point of view also espoused by one of my favorite authors, Robert A. Heinlein.
Cwth - Good question(s)... I initially registered Democrat during the Regan years when I became eligible to vote. You state your preference when you register for the first time, and you can change your affiliation at any time. You can be registered as one of a variety of parties, see a list at this Link . I have never felt the need to change my affiliation, despite chang
See, I know that this happens a lot. There are a lot of men who assume women's names for election purposes. Jamie, that is truly scary! Yikes! Maybe i should change my name to Chris, Robin, or Pat and run for office! Reminds me of that Saturday Night Live sketch called "Androgynous Pat". <
CrispE - I agree - we should definitely know all there is to know about the candidates for public office. Sometimes we can't though. The beauty of my system is that it enforces my political beliefs when I don't know who to vote for. So, as part of my political beliefs, we derive: 1. I'm for term limitations 2. I'm against good old boy networks that can develop without term limitations 3. Libertarian platform beliefs
Yep, my system breaks down when it is an issue to be voted on and not a person. In that case, like you, I attempt to vote the best solution. I do read the Libertarian Platform - Link - to help with some guidance, but otherwise, it's talk to friends, talk to family, watch the media, and vote my reaction. Further, sometimes it's just a gut fee
Your assumption is that my choosing Libertarian is baseless. My choice is based on: A. I largely support the Libertarian platform - Link I find it easier to agree with than either the Republican Platform or Democratic platform, although there are areas I disagree with, such as their stance on abortion. B. The Republican
First, let me say that I am a big believer in the voting system(s) in America. You have no basis for complaints about your leadership if you don't care enough to vote. My county in North Carolina (Catawba) has primary elections coming up in July. I am a registered Democrat, though my leanings are distinctly Republican with the exception of big
Kayles - I think the aspartame is truly unneccesary in C2. The Pepsi product "Pepsi Edge" does not have aspartame listed as an ingredient, although the product is not out yet and may have the ingredients changed. Sucralose is sugar derived and seems to be harmless. From the International Food Information Council Q & A about Sucralose : Is sucralose safe?</b
The bst advice I can give (father of two) is that it will pass. Make sure, though, to keep an eye on conditions to make sure there are no serious problems. Keep up the good work, you are doing fine. When you are at wit's end, switch off to that husband or another close friend/relative. It's OK to need help, you don't have to go it alone. When everything setles down you will learn the comfortable and easy feeling of getting 5 hours of good rest.</f
