actually, what I suspect is happening is object dock is showing me thumbnail imagage of the avi files which may be starting with a black image. This is just a guess but after seeing that objectdock shows thumbnails of pictures when I created a flyout for my pix folder, I suspect this may be what is happening.

re #7, Ahhhh. That is a much clearer explanation. Yes, that would be cool. That would give you a visual clue as to what folder is open without having to hover over the icon. Yes, we *must* have that. That, and strawberries.
Thanks for the tip on the system tray icons. I had to hold the icon for momemt, but it worked. So, webgizmos, you're saying you can't change the flyout icons in object dock, just in windows. That is bit disappointing as like using the higer quality .png icons. The main probem I am having in the flyouts is .avi icons just appearing as black squares. Any ideas?
Re: #7: perhaps I misunderstand, but I think I do this all the time (ex. an mp3 directory) Just open file explorer to the directory you want. Then just drag that directory to a dock, name it whatever you like and set the icon to whatever you like. When you click on the icon, file explorer will open to that directory. Re: #6, here, I guess you are focusing on creating a COMBINED sys tray/task bar. You can do seperata bars for each. But y
Is it possible to select icons for sys tray & flyouts (I see you can just right click to change the icons in the taskbar - cool!)?
Anyone know where I can get the wallpaper that stardock uses here: Link ?
never mind about creating sys tray and task bar tabs. I see where this was asked and answered in an earlier post.
Before mucking about too much with the default tabbed dock, I want to make sure I have my current settngs saved. I've saved a theme. Will this save my current settings so that if I make a change I don't like, I can reload the theme and go back to my original settings? The mucking about I'm thinking of is removing the taskbar and tray tabs from the default tray since I have already created other docks that handle these functions. But
I've been using the freeware version +6 months and decided to go for the plus version on my HTPC. Tabs, flyouts, great! Just a suggestion to the developer, you may want to make it clearer that you can EITHER have tabbed dock OR zooming docks, BUT tabbed docks don't zoom. It was only after a fair amount of frustration, followed by disappointment that I realized this. Now, I can realize the rationale for this (though personally I wo
