I am an instructional assistant in Special Education in the state of Oregon. I know that in Oregon you have to follow certain procedures and regulations per Oregon Administration Regulations. Violations of these OAR's can put you on administrative leave or even cost you your job. To legally restrain a student they have to be on an IEP (Individual Education Plan) and/or have a behavior plan in place that outlines specific guidelines for certain behavior
