yeah, the best one i've seen so far is xero brushed panther by steve garnier. unfortunately, it's for windowblinds users only. kol did a port but it's not exact and sorta incomplete since all the menu's aren't brushed. ah well...

i'm currently using a brushed metal vs but not everything has the effect (menu's, submenus, etc...) - does anyone make one that is completely brushed metal? just curious...
yeah, it's really strange. if i open up the recycle bin and empty it from windows explorer, the sound effect works but if i do it from the objectdock, it doesn't. huh? i guess objectdock doesn't support sounds?
something weird is going on when i launch apps from objectdock. if i empty the recycle bin, it won't play the audio that i have set to play when i empty the trash. if i use msn messenger, my default sounds don't work (i.e. new alerts, new messages, etc...) anyone else have this problem?
please read the FAQ or support files
i don't care for the new service that runs in the background (bonjour) + itunes eats up too much resources. minus the nice gui, winamp with ipod support works fine for me. and get this, i can actually take music off my ipod (something that you can't do with itunes!). not knocking itunes or anyone, just a personal preference is all.
don't know if this will help or if it's been suggested but have you tried using system restore? restore to an earlier time and reapply? i'm curious to how you solved this...
hi guys. a bit of confusion for me here. what's the difference between using the uxtheme multi-patcher (neowin) and stylexp to change/apply visual styles? to the best of my knowledge, i need both to accomplish this but i uninstalled stylexp with the patch still in place and i'm still able to change my visual styles. so... is stylexp necessary or will the patch be just fine? sorry for the long question but i just don't wanna run stylexp i
hi. i know there are widgets out there that let me search google directly but does anyone know of a way to add a search box into my windows taskbar that defaults to google or msn search?
thanx, will do.
thanx guys. so there's no freeware program or registry hack that'll do it huh? hmm... this bites.
nevermind - figured it out.
hello. still in the process of customizing my windows xp desktop and have a question: does anyone know how to script a desktop shortcut that will perform the same function as winkey+m ? i suppose it would be a .vbs file, right? thanx in advance!
hmm... i'm still lost as to how to change the toolbar icons in ms internet explorer. can anyone help?
ok, i'm totally lost here. i downloaded the free trial of iconpackager and there's no option to replace the icons in internet explorer - is this possible? please don't tell me i have to download firefox. anything will help... thanx-a-million again guys!
hi all and thanx for your advice/help. in regards to the trial programs, any changes i make (i.e. icon changes), are they wiped out after i have to uninstall the program because i can't buy it?
hi all. i'm new to os customization and have so far done some minor tweaking to make my windows xp box more visually appealing but it's still not complete. i really want to use object desktop to change my gui but can't afford it right now. is there a FREE program out there that will let me do this until i save enough money for it? i read about another program called stylexp but that costs money too. any help is greatly appreciated - than
