If you are intersted in having multiplayer for Galactic Civilizations (as I am) there appears to be only one option. Do not buy (and hence support) any more Galactic Civilization products until multiplayer is introduced. I'm not calling for a boycott or protesting Stardock; but the Devs have expressed over and over again that they will not do multiplayer basically because they believe the costs of adding multiplayer will not be worth the benefits. It's not an unreasonable thing to do

A I don't think that is a valid reason, i mean who would make an RTS game with no multiplayer?? no one! it is because this is a turn based game that makes multiplayer less attractive. Precisely. Sins of a Solar Empire has multiplayer. It's real time. Even fast-paced turn-based games we make have multiplayer like The Political Machine. But GalCiv is a tough case. And we've as

Why are you saying it will ruin the game?!?!?! Multiplayer is an option! If you don't want to play it (MP) you don't have to! If MP "ruins" the game, us MP people will compensate because MP would still be AWESOME!!! I'm certainly not against multiplayer. I just don't see the justification to retrofit it into GalCiv II since the demand for multiplayer has been consistently mild (other than the handful of people who argue loudly over and over). All of Stardock's

This is in response to Vinraith and everyone else who complains that adding MP will lessen gains in SP (and I do agree that time and money spent on MP will hence mean less time and money spent on SP, I'm not going to argue that). So far, SP has had 100% dedicated resources for 2 full games, 3 expansions, and thousands of version updates since Galactic Civilization I. The players (like myself) who are asking for MP to be added are asking for (at absolute most) 1 expansion worth of time

Since I see no new posts in April for multiplayer... Please Stardock, add multiplayer. I understand it still takes a lot of work, but all we want is the ability to connect and play with each other. Most of us are not looking for some matching/ladder system. Most of us are just looking to play against people we know over lan.

1) Diplomacy: Add options to tell AI back off my territory (and then possibly add asking permission to send ships through). 2) United Planets: Give advance notice of issue coming up for vote (4 turns or so). Allow a set of options to be brought up by player and AI. 3) Spying: Allow spies to just spy (info gathers only, harder to detect). Also maybe in that line, don't allow players to place spies on a tile right off the bat. First they have to "spy" and then once they've

It would be nice if you got notified in advance what the resolution was to be voted on so you could decide if you should actually try to acquire IPs to get your way (like no to the starbase law).

Multiplayer all the way please I'd have no problem paying an expansion price for it either. Hotseat would satisfy me, as my friends and I are always wishing we could actually play each other rather than compete seperately based on score and date of victory. It would be nice to do LAN/WAN as well... one way that could work to speed things up is to seperate the turns into two stages: Firs

I think it is probably hard for the AI to really recogonize culture flipping from afar (if you have just really built up and researched tons of influence techs/building/starbases), but it should really take offense to someone putting starbases in their immediate area. I don't think the AI pays enough attention to those nearby starbases and nearby fleets enough. If they do, then they don't really let you know to way. I'd really like a way for them (and us) to at least send a diplomact

No comments on this? It seems like a lot of people have issues with the new spying system (it almost made me not buy the expansion). I can see that maybe all that I am suggesting is too much... but maybe some of it is reasonable and can happen... any thoughts on which part?

I know alot of what I have up there is tough stuff. One thing that should not be too tough is for them to implement early notification of what is going to be voted on, that would be so much more meaningful. Additionally, once the issue is posted, each AI could have a weight of how important this particular vote is (like taxing war for the Dregin would be huge) and either value their IP higher or lower based on that. I think those changes would big a lot of bang for the buck for improving the

I really do think Dark Avatar is a very good game, but think there are a few issues that could use a solid bit of improvement. Spying was one that I (and many others) have mentioned before. The United Planets is another one of them. I’m personally a big fan of working through diplomacy and improving the U.P. would add a lot to a good game. Currently you are trying to guess how other people are going to vote and you can only buy votes by trading for Influence Points (before the actual U

I, like most people, really do like a lot of what Dark Avatar has to offer, but think there are a few issues that could use a solid bit of improvement. Espionage is one of them. A lot of what I'm about to say has been borrowed by other posters... I tried to compile what I've read and what I think and come up with a combined solution. First, the issues:  Placing a spy allows you to view the planet for free. You don't even have to place the spy, just have a spy and click on the pl
