So I grew tired of waiting for Stardock to fix any of the bugs with ObjectDock 2 and will be moving on. The first thing I will be trying is Nexus. Are there other recommendations? I don't need to re-install Impulse just to find out there are no updates for ObjectDock. They don't communicate and they require a bloated "Software Update Architecture Framework Interface" or some such for this simple utility.

So I downloaded the installer from something called "Impulse Anywhere," which says it does not require me to install Impulse. However, it Installs Impulse (so they lied again) and it says I don't need to update. BUT, when I look at the version on the website it says 2.00.072, and when I look at the version I have installed it says 1.99.742. So apparently there are no updates even though there is a more recent version. I think I shall go ahead and take my business elsew
I believe so. You should check by opening Impulse, then shift+rightclick on ObjectDock2+ and choosing 'Verify Innstallation'.
I don't have any interest in re-installing Impulse just to check on the status of this one application I have purchased. If the developer isn't interested in maintaining or communicating with the paying customers I'll just move to another product.

I don't think keeping one superfluous piece of software installed for months so that they can distribute rare updates is worth the resources. For something as infrequently updated as OD the best approach would be for them to send us notifications of a Patch file that can be applied. Impulse is a waste of system resources as far as I can see. As it has very few options for the user to dictate when it will and will not run I prefer to leave it in the recycle bin.

So have there been any updates or patches to ObjectDock 2.0 since its release? I always uninstall Impulse after installing ObjectDock because I have no use for the program other than updates. Reading the Forums here it appears to me that there aren't many users of OD 2 since the posts are few and far between. Please let me know if there are or will be patches and I will check back every few months. One but I would really like to see is the delay problem in the System Tray on a

Several bugs, some of them still around from the old Object Dock Plus 1.90: Can't click some system tray icons to get to their menus or launch the UI for them. Two specific icons this gets annoying with: Windows Update Icon and Windows 7 Action Center. This gets to be a problem because when Windows Update Icon appears to say there are updates to install, you have to make the Windows Taskbar appear (if it is hidden) and click the icon there to launch the updates. I want to vote for this as well. In fact there is a bug in Object Dock 2 plus because at one point I WAS able to make the icons go down to 16 pixels and saved the changed. After relaunching the Application later I found that they had reverted to 32 pixels. I really don't like the way these look at 32 Pixels, so please make this one a priority.

I've ran it as an admin, It just doesn't save. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate. And I'm getting quite frustrated. If you prefer not to have your computer become part of a botnet then there is something better and more secure than turning UAC off. Instead turn UAC settings down to just display a regular dialog box when you need to elevate a program. This works much better in most every case on Windows 7. <img style="float: left; border: 1px solid black;" src="http://www.technixupdate.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/ChangesettingsUACwindows7.png" alt="Windows 7 UAC settings" width="597" height="411"

Ok, let me start by saying I rate my self as "Guy that power users go to when they need an answer." I've rolled my own computers and done my own tweaking since 1994. So we can avoid the "Did you try turning the computer off" kinds of replies :) I decided to give TweakVista a try because it was included with my ObjectDesktop Ultimate subscription. And I like looking over tweaking utilities. Even though I realize I can do this stuff myself with a bit of research. So that is a gr

Ok, so after finally hearing too many times that ObjectDock 2.0 has no schedule estimate I decided to check out WinStep. Wow, what a great Suite. Really helped give my desktop some punch and with some handy utilities as well. But after downloading that I decided my plain vanilla Vista windows needed help. So I decided to re-subscribe to Object Desktop Ultimate. Almost as cheap as just buying WB. I had given up on everything except ObjectDock because WB and the other tools were so bugg
Also Google CHrome won't start from the dock. Chrome is not installed under Program Files, but in the user's account.
How are you trying to launch Chrome? I opened the Start Menu->All Programs->Google Chrome folder and dragged the shortcut there to OD+ and it launches perfectly. System Tray works fine in my Tabbed dock as well. What version of OD+ are you running? I'm using 1.9 build 535u

Also keep in mind that the new task bar in Windows 7 looks like it will provide a lot of capability making it more like the Mac OS X dock with some added bells and whistles. So it is entirely possible that once Windows 7 releases most people will no longer want/use OD.

Mine is 1.90 build 535u. So clearly there is some update, but I guess since I can't find a way to get an update I will just kep plugging along with the build I have. What is the expected release date of the next major version of ObjectDock?

You get whatever they decide they are serving at the time. In any event, it's not very useful. Hopefully Object Dock will continue

I think it should be made clear that what is available on Impulse is NOT ObjectDock Plus. It is the Free version, ObjectDock. I installed Impulse to find out what is in this "beta" version. Impulse shows I am running an "older" version of ObjectDock (1.90) and shows a newer version (1.90.037). I told it to update. It uninstalled my ObjectDock Plus and installed this "New" version. However, the new version is ObjectDock. I lost my "Plus" features. I had to uninstall ObjectDock and rein

Ok first of all, I have no idea what "Windows Home Ultimate" is so my advice may be wrong if you are using some special European version of Windows. Did you mean "Vista Ultimate" or perhaps "Vista Home Premium" If so, there is a way to force Windows to switch between Aero and Basic window styles: 1) Open the Run dialog: Start Menu->Run... (or just press Winkey+R) 2) In the Run Dialog type: <span style="font-siz

Using Vista Home Premium here as well. I have a tray dock with System Tray in it that works perfectly for me. Please specify the steps you took to configure that feature and maybe I can help. You are right that the Internet and E-Mail icons launch the wrong items. I simply changed these to shortcuts to my own favorite browser and email client. Simplest solution. It always worries me when developers seem to ignore the default application information in Windows.

20C = 68F. People who say their CPU temp is 20C-22C are either water-cooled, or their sensor is messed up. No CPU runs at room temperature. I see too many people on the web reporting wrong CPU temps because they don't know how to configure their temperature monitors. If you aren't sure, go into BIOS and see what it says there. If it doesn't say, you probably don't have a CPU Temperature monitor in your computer, in which case you won't get an accurate
