I totally agree. Even buying a couple of factories doesn't help thst much. You should be able to build earlier versions of the buildings and then upgrade them. We dont forget the older tech in real life when we find a better one, do we ?

I think one of the best ideas was only allowing to trade techs that YOU researched. This way AI cant trade between each other like giving away free candy. Also someone said it's always giving when you want to trade with AI. Even if your diplomatic skills are far better and your relations are good still you need to give much more than you get. I strongly agree with that. It makes trade with AI totally useless. Thus killing one of the best features of the game. I think this should be fixed a

Thanks. I'll be watching this post then (or where should i watch?) to see the developments. Brian: I think it's a very impotant issue because maybe we are building everything in X2 more time than we should. Which makes the game very harder than it should on more difficult levels.

Hi, I am having a big problem with the game. Every time I build something on a planet (factory, embassy, lab, anything..) I see the time it will take on the lower right corner. When I go to the colony tab on the civilization manager i see time it takes there too but it's always doubled! For instance if it seems 3 weeks in the planet window it seems as 6 weeks in colony tab and to make it worse, the one in civ manager is always the right one. So if i see sometihng as 2 week

No it's not that. The AI does it automatically for you because there's an option for that (which is by befault auto-update when a newer version comes) It doesnt change anything just cancel that and try to do it yourself you'll see you cant upgrade to better version, you just build it on the older one. But very illogically you can upgrade a farm to an embassy, a factory or anything except xeno farm.

I have another problem in GalCiv2. Or it's something I dont understand. I'll explain it and wait for someone to help me out. For instance i have a basic factory on a planet and then I find factory by researching. When I click on the basic factory and then click on factory from the available buildings, I cant upgrade it but I can build the newer one on the older version (or buy it, buy option is always there, it's ok). But when I click on the basic factory and choose an irrelevant bu
