I haven't seen this bug reported here yet and it doesn't seem to have been acknowledged by Stardock either so here goes. The bug is best described in the thread: Link The bug appears to manifest when you obsolete a ship that you just purchased, such as in the case where you bought a ship, upgraded it and obsoleted the old version before the end of a turn. Thereafter,

I wanted to bump this issue since I've just encountered it too now. Several of my planets in my current game now cannot build any ships at all. The ship build time shows 0 and you can't click the buy button. This is an awful bug. Someone at Stardock should take note as it ruins a game in progress. In this case, one that I've put hours into.
I posted this in another thread, but decided that the idea merited it's own. Also, if this is already someone else's idea then I apologize in advance, but it's certainly new to me. I preferred the old Ship Designer Upgrade button functionality although there are nice aspects about the "new" upgrade functionality. I've read in a previous thread that opinion is definitely split both ways on this. Some people preferred that the old components s
I just had a brainwave about this. Hopefully a Stardock employee is reading. I liked the old Upgrade functionality although there are nice aspects about the "new" upgrade functionality. But here's an idea that might please both camps. The Upgrade button could maybe leave all the old components on, but allow you to upgrade individual components by highlighting them and double clicking the new upgraded component from the list. Just like the colony manager. This way you wouldn
The AI also talks about your potential military. I had the Korx attack me saying that while they respected my potential military - it was just that "potential". That happened to me yesterday. One of the AI opponents refused to trade military tech due to my "already powerful military". Except in my ca
I posted in another thread about this. In my game an AI opponent got a Precursor Corvette and dispatched it to wreak slow havok in my territory. It was too early to have built up any conventional resistance and I only destroyed it after losing about 30 ships to it, almost every fighting ship I had by then. Anyway, 2 turns later he got another one.
I did encounter a glitch (not sure if it's fixed since I haven't checked again) where a newly built starbase would show the attributes of the constructor that had just finished building it. But those would go away next turn or if you clicked the starbase again and I don't think you could actually have moved the base.
Although you could argue that a run-of-the-mill word processor's spell check feature would have caught most of the obvious spelling errors. I'll agree with the opinion that such problems don't have as high priority as bugs and odd game behaviour, but I also support the notion that those kinds of things reflect poorly on a finished product.
Is the acquisition of a Precursor Corvette a random event or is there something that you can do to better your chances of finding one? I was playing a game where one of the AIs (Korx I think) fielded one against me. It took a hell of a lot of firepower to put it down, especially in the mid-game where (had the AI been set smarter) it could have won the game with that one ship alone. I eventually destroyed it with massed fleets of cargo hull
Nothing more annoying than capturing a handful PQ 5-9 planets, to have his homeworld PQ21 surrender to my sworn enemies. Although if they were your sworn enemies it would pose far less of a bump in the roadmap than if they were your close allies, say.
I like the idea of an undo, or something like I've seen in other TBS games where they keep the last few turns as saved games. It would help to avoid dumb mistakes that are helped along by the often dysfunctional game behaviour. Some things that I've done that I wished I could undo back to the last turn: - Yes, I've also surrendered my game accidentally. I think people are right, there's no reason for this option to exist. - Accidentally
Well if you have high enough spying they tell you when the civs make peace, so finding out about their going to war only seems logical.
And having the older versions of the ships appear in the build list increases the odds that you'll accidentally "upgrade" all of your ships to an older version, which has happened to me on several occasions now. And I haven't found a way to stop the process--you have to go back to an older saved game.
You probably did post in the Bug forum, but amusingly it's a forum software bug.
Well I'm sure many of the ship designer bugs have been mentioned already but I thought I'd add my voice. The ship designer and associated features really don't seem to be working very well. I hoped the latest update would resolve some of the issues but I don't think any were. I've also installed the latest (ATI) drivers for my video card, which by the way doesn't seem to be running any hotter than for any other game I play regularly. Oh and I have 1 GB
This is one of the many ship designer bugs that's frustrating me of late. I've gotten around this one by right-clicking (as if to drop a selected Extra component) after removing a component. This solves the problem for me.
The ship upgrade list should not contain designs that you've already marked obsolete. I find that the clutter reduces the usability and is annoying. At the very least, a checkbox option to filter those out (default) should be available.
