Yeh I had to make a passworded MP game and just added bots. Not sure if I was supposed to be able to, but I could also add Oculus as a bot, so I had an AI using him.

Yeah, I thought it seemed to happen too much to be coincidence. Got quite a few matches that were 2 of one demigod vs 2 of another. Personally don't like it as it takes some variety out.
I'm wondering, when will we have the update that introduces the new muffin ordering interface? Would take the game 2-3 levels higher imo, and get at least another 100K sold. Otherwise I'm happy with the progress so far!
Such a random and unexpected thing to have there, hehe.
Definately keep the status reports coming, love hearing about what's going on. Also kinda makes you feel like your part of the team, getting kept up to date on stuff. If you stop doing them I might cry.
That really has nothing to do with the patch and more to do with the game seperating players more by region to get faster ping times. We're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place there. We're trying to improve your connections to other players in match making but it shrinks the pool of players. What do you guys think is the best route?
Makes sense. Though the few times it does finally start se
Yeah, since the new patch I keep getting stuck with it going back and forth between 'Trying to find a suitable match' and 'A match has been found and is attempting to connect' messages. Whereas before it sometimes took a couple tries to get a game with no one stuck trying to connect, it would go pretty fast.
I've been doing just skirmish games, until today, which were working fine, but now I've been trying Custom games which connect fine, have no problems, but after 15-20 mins every game I get DC'd. Been pretty annoying, as it doesn't happen right away, so I'll be well into the game, and right when it's getting good I'm DC'd :( No idea what could be causing it, as I do skirmish and pantheon games just fine, 30+ min games.
Awesome news. Love seeing these updates!
Main problems with it still atm that I've come accross, are getting too many bots in MP with an uneven number of humans on teams (played 5 skirmish games all but 1 were 2 +2AI Vs 1 +3AI) and long wait to connect in pantheon/custom games, causing people to cancell before the last 1-2 people connect to everyone, reminding me of playing WoW trying to get a pug group fast enough that no one leaves, hehe.
Or for testing something out etc.
Very good list. I don't like everything on it, but 90% of them I'd love to see at one point.
Agree on a bunch of things there. Some of the demigods could use a size increase, make them stand out more, and seem more like demigods as Rook does. Definately need some kind of minion counter for generals. I find my self wondering quite often, when in the midst of a big battle if I need to resummon etc. and a teammate portrate and coloured minimap icon would definately help with teamwork. I believe hitting P with your cursor over where you want to p
I prefer review sites that have a quick summery of the pros/cons of a game. That way if a game gets a low rating, but I see the pros are all things I'm looking for, and the cons are all things I dont worry about then I know I'll be interested.
Here is what i see a lot; http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8778/connectionwindow.jpg Then when i load in, Bam, i'm up against all kinds of bots and no one is there. IF it isn't me that drops, the only people to manage to make it in, are the people with the connection info. the blanks never pass this point, and are replaced with AI. Here's my thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/3
Well, you can't really blame them for not waiting longer to put it out, they do have a bit of an obligation to their readers to have one out in a timely mannor, atleast IGN took the early problems into account unlike gamespot. Thought it was a good review, they make it pretty clear that the only thing stopping it from being a great game are the net problems, and unlike a lot of them didn't totally slam the game for no campaign or tutorial.
Aye, most fun I've had with a game in a long time. Hopefully it will turn out to be a popular game for a long time. Nothing worst then seeing a game you like fall into obscurity with next to no one playing. Loved Age of Mythology, but sadly that game never really cought on.
Indeed, I'd much rather not play with any bots at all ever in MP. Havn't got into a skirmish match yet that wasn't either all bots or me vs 1 human and the rest bots. Makes it extra unfair for someone whos new, as I lvl like mad before they have a chance, and I can imagine they just wonder wtf...
Is it a review writen by reviewers from UGO.com or an actual blog from someone, because I am not very fond of blog written reviews.
Idk, for some reason it's listed as an Actiontrip review on gameranking, but the link for it goes to UGO Games Blog. Review is ok I guess, but as others said, I don't know why a game with simple mechanics gets marked down for no tutorial, also don't get how they can say it has
http://gamesblog.ugo.com/games/demigod-review-pc From UGO, gave it a B : Overall Demigod is solid title. It's gorgeous, has great replay value and looks to be a great platform with a long lifespan, thanks to the release of new demigods, maps, features and gameplay modes. I simply worry about the current feature-set, with no tutorial or "let me hold your hand, give you cut scenes, and prepare you for multiplayer" s
I came in thinking it was going to be another trollish complaint about the game and stardock, and leave laughing. :)
Yeah, I hope for a re-visit of it once the net stuff has been worked out. I imagine they have to rush these things out, being a major review site, but as it's been said by others, there have been many games that came off with tons of problems to start, and they've given them high marks anyway...
I can see the net connection problems being a complaint, but I don't see why not having a storylined campaign is such a critical thing for a game like this. Never usually play them anyway myself, and when games do have them people just complain they are way to short anyway.
Gamespot has got theirs out now, 6.5 not so favorable this time around - critizing the network problems and lack of storyline/campaign mainly. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/demigod/review.html
A few of the demigods voices, most notably Regulus and Torch Bearer remind me of the hero voices from the WBC series. Anyone else find that? (if anyone even remembers WBC that is) Wonder if they share the same voice actors. Was a pleasent surprise to hear such similar voices anyway, as I've always liked the WBC VOs.
