In complicated melees, I can't always remember which demigod is which based on the player name. Often I know, e.g., that I want to pound on the Torchbearer a little more, but I can't remember which of the names is attached to him. I have a few ideas that might help here: This one should be pretty easy: attach the demigod's portrait to the box that pops up with their name, so I know who I'm pointing it. Always show portraits

I noticed when playing with the Torchbearer that he would sometimes "forget" who he was supposed to be attacking and attack the nearest enemy instead. I think, but am not sure (hey, it was 3 in the morning), that this happened after I used one of his "fast" spells (e.g., Rain of Ice or Deep Freeze). Maybe this is intended, but it seemed very counterintuitive to me, and several times I lost a few chances to shoot an opponent because I didn't notice he'd gone back to firing at creep

One thing I really appreciated in the voice work is that some of the taglines are recorded several times with a different inflection each time (e.g. "every LIFE is precious" vs "EVERY life is precious"). It makes the voices feel a lot less "canned" to me.

So, I know balancing hasn't really happened yet, but I'd like to just offer a hope that the Unclean Beast gets a little less wimpy in the next build. Right now he just can't kill anything -- I've tried several games against Sedna, and she reliably chews him up in single combat, even if I equip him with all the combat-enhancing gear I can get early game. Beta 2c was working fine for me at first, but a few days ago I tried to host a game, just me vs the AI, and noticed that instead of saying "Conquest" at the map loading screen and describing the victory condition, it just said "[No text]". I like this idea. Another interesting one: make it so that the easiest way to top one of the magic War Score-increasing percentages is to capture a flag whose effect is negative. e.g., if there are 10 flags on the map and each side has 4 that are inside their base, the two external ones could be negative flags. I've seen the same thing in a solo 1v3 game against the AI (I was the Queen of Thorns, the AI had the Rook, Oak and the Unclean Beast). It happened just as I killed the Rook, don't know if that matters. Like the earlier poster said, the game was "sort of working": I could move the view, change the camera angle, etc. My character icon's animations were still going (the Queen's hair was blowing), but all the action on the battlefield had stopped, as had the background animatio

I've been playing against Hard and Nightmare AIs because the Normal AI is very weak. To sum up what I'm talking about, here are the stats at the end of a 1v1 game that I recently won. I was playing on the Prison map with Oak; the AI was Erebus. Pretty much every 1v1 I play against a Nightmare AI ends up like this, though. Another thing I've noticed about the AI is that it doesn't pay nearly enough attention to flag captures. When playing against AIs >= Hard, I usually end up behind in both hero levels *and* citadel upgrades -- but I can still win because the AI lets me capture and hold flags (esp. the neutral portal flags) without too much effort. It looks like this update is missing a library named "d3dx9_35.dll". I guess this is some Microsoft-flavored DirectFoo thingy?
