Just wondering how even at maximum zoom the fighters are smaller than frigates at zoom before icon view and most of the time all you can see is the unit icon that represents them as you need to zoom in further to see the little buggers, being able to cause an "apparent" issue with performance? Maybe it's that some people want to run the game at maximum graphical power even if their machine can't handle it? I know i can't so i just run at about a medium setup and don't see any issue with

So basically other than the wiki link to inform us you have just confirmed my suspicions as to why the fighter groups are so small? If the button says "SQUADRON MANAGEMENT" I want to see a sqaudron not a bloody "SECTION". Show us the fighters and mayhem must ensue
First of all don't get me wrong this game will and atm does rock although... Call me a fanatic about military terminology, but 5 fighters IS NOT anywhere even close to a SQUADRON! SHOW ME THE FIGHTERS! A squadron consists of at least 2 FLIGHTS and a FLIGHT has to be at least 10 units. Many of you will now be thinking holy how much damage you wanna do with the little buggers but seriously how many fighters does a modern aircraft carrier have? I'm pretty sure it's a lot more than
On the subject of a hyperdrive engine works like a stargate, you may have missed a point. A hyperdrive only bends spacetime around the ship, creating the tunnel so to speak. Effectively the steep hill example was correct in that inside the tunnel the ship still relies on both types of propulsion for travel, and therefore limited to available power. With 2 stargates this power input is much greater, or GC to SG difference in it is the SG stargates demolecularize the matter and then transmit this
I see the biggest problem with carrier limitations in the combat system of GalCivII is that each ship is an independant entity in terms of actual combat. This brings about the we so puny race battle against the dread lords. While they have the best tech's it can also be a major disadvantage as your infrastructure needs to be built from ground up with most expensive tools. In the campaign and from the looks of it here tiny ships with big guns are stupidly cheap and in a single combat phase, how m
