Ok, so when you select one of the pre-made races, you get 10 points to put into any of the abilities (+military, etc.). However I notice that even when you clear away the pre-set 10 points, the pre-made civs still have some bonus abilities you cannot get rid of. So, my question is, isn't it a disadvantage to use a Custom Race, because you only have the 10 points and not the extra abilities the pre-made races get? Or am I missing something?

Thanks, yeah I have read on here that the AI is at its best when the map is not huge. I will see how I do and adjust accordingly I think. I'm still new and figuring out what is best for my style of play.
Thanks Bakka that's exactly what I was wondering. Next game I will try 4 or 5 intelligent opponents on a larger map and see how I do.
Enjoyed the demo greatly, am looking forward to getting better at this game. Started a game against 3 normal difficulty on a medium map, it doesn't look like I will have much trouble as I am well ahead of all 3 after colonizing everything. I was wondering, what intelligence level for the individual opponent (as opposed to overall game difficulty) gives the smartest AI without any advantages for either side? Thanks, sorry if this is common knowledge, I must have missed it somewhere
