Sorry but pantheon is just as broken as it was before. (actually I had less success, but I assume thats down to luck) Tried about 15 times, and got 1 game to launch. Most of the time now instead of people dropping, were getting stuck on attempting to connect. It just sits there forever attempting to connect. Sigh. I can understand occasionally 2 pc's not being able to connect, but why does it happen almost every game I try?

Id disagree with th currency update if its more than a 2v2. In fact most people value currency upgrades at the citadel too low IMO.
citadel upgrade that are not creeps
Unless its buying priests before they are ready to upgade creeps to a major level. Ive lost many games because one of my teammates got priests early and fed the opponents.
But still, I just played a pantheon game tonight and first, it took like 3 or 4 minutes to find a game, then one of the players got dropped so I ended up in a 2 on 1 match. I didnt wait for the game to start because I know it's
Why not just let us choose our own proxy, or at least give us the option. Lets be honest... you know that an automatic proxy selector is going to get it wrong for some people, and you're just asking for trouble.
While this is a good idea in principle, I would have preferred the game was made more stable before peple started getting punished for "disconnecting". Ive crashed to desktop and desynced a number of times through no fault of my own.
You get your accurate and useful information by playing the game and talking with people (like on forums). Not by asking some statistic sheet from the developer, lol .
I think this is completely wrong. Statistic sheets will paint a much more accurate picture than just your own experiences in game or listening to people on a forum. lol
-1 Karma for leaving the game early
While I appreciate that these changes are just stardocks side of the code, implementing a lot of the ideas simply isnt going to work until the game is more stable and has the network code tweaked/optimized. The above example is an obvious example of something that you just cant do when people are freezing when going into games, and whole sides are crashing out mid game. &nbs
It seems a bit early to be doing these things when the game is still crashing to desktop in games (often everyone on one side crashes out), freezing on game launch, booting you out of lobbies you're already connected to, and just general freezes wile navigating around the menus and game lists in multplayer. The game is certainly much better than at launch, but getting and playing through a game is still too much hit and miss.
Buying giants too early on exile is a "beginners mistake". Ive been there and done that and it wasnt fast respawn. You just need to sit tight, and keep farming their creeps, keep control of the gold flags, and upgrade your gear until you're sure you can crush the opponents. *Then* get giants. Actually id even go further and say that upgrading creeps at all i a beginners mistake until youre ready to get giants and crush them utterly. Ive been on many losi
Being forced to use a proxy when I have no problems directly connecting would suck. Even assuming you actually put proxy server somewhere in Australia so Im not getting 700 ms pings to someone very close. (Presumably were proxying via the USA, so having to cross the pacific ocean twice) We have a switch to force proxy. Why would you want to force someone onto proxy who is direct connecting fine? It makes no sense. Horrible idea.
I suppose hindsight is 20/20, but its clear that many people just dont have the upload bandwidth to play this game. Unfortunately theres no way of telling who the offender are, so you just get a run of laggy games. Probably wont be so much of a problem in europe or USA, but so many piss poor connections here in .au ftth wont be in for several years yet, so I suppose were out of luck.
Internet in Australia... Im about 3.5Km from the exchange. (Max 25MB/s ADSL2+)
Desync is when different people have different versions of what is actually happening. Naturally over time these differences will tend to become greater and greater. Game needs to just abort when you get a desync. Playing on shuldnt be an option.
There is stil some logic error in the network code. I find if Im in a custom game and several people come and go, the game becomes impossible to get everyone connected. People get stuck in the "waiting to connect" and not the "attempting to connect" as you described. The only way is to quit and make a new lobby, and usually then everyone connects up fine first time. As someone already pointed out, the lobby isnt cleaning things up right when players quit out.</p

Wheras I enjoy reading your reviews, the part I would like to complain about is this sort of thing...
But I think that should be weighted with what the average user who gets Demigod will experience and in reality, as annoying as this issue is, it’s not something that’s going to be an ongoing issue, it’s something that is likely to be taken care of in the next day or two. So this time next week, players will be happily playing but GameSpot&

The biggest factor in me deciding to buy this game (as well as Galactic civilizations) was the lack of copy protection. I will never pay for, or install DRM malware.
I hope we see a full open beta stress test for Elemental. (As we should have for Demigod)
Personally, I think the long-term solution is for us just to host the games entirely
What about the people who dont live in north america? I ping about 225 to the US (from .au), so that would make my delay 500 ms to another person in .au, as opposed to the sub 100 ms Im getting now. If you're going to go for the server method, a better solution would be to have hostable server code (like many of the fps's), and just let anyone host a server for th

Maybe I should have just said it like you, but I get annoyed when stupid people blame their 5v5 not working at the person with the highest ping.
To the OP:Depends what stage of the game you quit out. If were 10 minutes into the game and you get killed a couple of times, but can still win, and you quit out then I do object to that, and you've jut wasted the time of everyone else playing the match. If the game is a forgone conclusion then feel free to quit. Im sure some time in the future there will be a "surrender" feature put into the game so *I* dont have to waste *my* time finishing off an obviously defeated opponent. <
