actually, is there anything from stopping us beta testers from writing previews on the game? I mean no mag has covered this yet to my knowledge, so aside from what ppl can ascertain from these forum posts there is very little actual info out there. .
I don't think there is any non-disclosure agreement that binds us to secrecy, so I think its ok to talk about it. I'm pretty surprised there are no interviews or previews from gam

This was a huge debate back in the Entrenchment beta and the Phase Destabilization was the end result that was generally agreed upon. Doesn't have anything to do with Diplomacy.

It should have a campaign of some sort, even if its something like a Risk Battlemap style. There is a lot of background story that feels like its being neglected. I'm not expecting a campaign to be added in the microexpansions, but the full expansion/sequel should have one added in.
I think an embassy could be something like an star base, with levels to upgrade. The diplomatic ship would be consumed as well. There should be also a requirement to build an embassy, like at least being at a truce. Once the embassy has been established, then it can be upgraded to perform certain acts such as the espionage and allegiance stuff.
I think this is the best solution present. Since the previous add-o

I was curious if there could be some graphic representation for a homeworld that has an embassy established. It doesn't matter if its a 2D icon or a 3D model of the embassy (though a 3D model would look more pretty!), but just having it as a little text blurb seems a bit weak for a game that boasts pretty visuals.

Displaying all the units and spells as cards would be awesome. Even though the graphics were basic and rudimentary, Master of Magic did the whole card thing quite well and made it feel like you were playing a mix of Magic: The Gathering.

Sorry if it's been said before (only read the first page), but killing off bots for the A.I. would be a terrible thing to waste. The only multiplayer strategy games that me and my group of friends play are Sins of a Solar Empire and Civ IV with hard/king difficulty compstomps. Elemental still looks really fascinating but not having any A.I. players for multiplayer available would be a travesty. I know they're difficult to program but most 4X games we play are best when you stomp an impossibly

Coming from a singleplayer perspective: I agree with the Cpt_Siddy. I don't think there should be that many drastic changes as he mentions, but they really do feel like glorified turrets. Their role as defense is no where near as Ironclad was advertising, and building one seems inconsequential for either TEC or Advent. There really needs to be some higher range and/or slow movement attached to them because what other users are mentioning here are the exception to the rule (case by case studie

Agreed. After playing a TEC game I felt that the starbase was just a glorified version of the turret from the original game. Enemy ships ships were just able to go around it and avoid any damage. It should either have pretty long range or be able to move around the gravity well slowly. I like the Vasari death-star Starbase, though. I hope they keep the phasing in for that.

After spending a week, on and off, on the Dread Lords campaign I was finally able to beat the Apocalypse level. In all honesty, &%$@ that mission. The key is the build lots and lots of small fighters with speed ratings of 6 or more. I gave up on building starbases and went around picking off Dread Lord troop transports while evading the enemy. Make sure you build a custom survey ship that can match the speed of the fighters, as well. When you see the Dread Lords begin to build shields o
