Mines are purely preferential. Just because you don't use them it doesn't mean you're easier to kill, because you can dish out dps faster without them mid-late game, and having invested points into mines, you probably won't have enough to chase down weakened enemy to kill them off, or push into an enemy base in conquest because mine dps is so low. They have great utility and I like mines, but they unfortunately become a lot less useful very quickly. MOTB is pure awesome though

If Nolc is American, he really fits the stupid stereotype. He can't do math or spell or write correctly. At all. To top it off he plays DotA and CS. To you people saying RTS don't need such low pings, go look at some micro-intensive RTS and tell me you want your units dying because of delay in a fierce match, ending up with a loss on your record because of reasons outside your control? Nolc, you talk way too much shit. On page one you said 50 milliseconds was .050 seconds. You

Reply to Servers down? in Demigod

If you were a reviewer you'd review the game as soon as it came out and then everyone would bash you for being so impatient with the review and not doing it properly. Key word. Word.

I've had huge success just maxing out the winged form and maim, with the boots of speed and anklet for chase-kill-win. On the matter of mines, they're very good midgame, when the hp is still a bit fragile on demigods, suck earlygame because you only get 1-2 mines >.>... And at max level, you can only set down 2 spells of mines, for a total and max of 6 mines. Suffice to say, it would've been better to make the max 7-9ish, then it'd be worth it to set a decent trap against
No, the future of PC gaming is Steam. You NEVER see these kinds of issues with any games released, it's just amateur hour with Stardock and Impulse.
Oh I have MUCH trouble playing online with Steam, since it regularly kicks me off in a type of "hiccup", only to reconnect seconds later. Every five minutes while trying to play through a l4d campaign with my friend. How sweet. It's not a matter about my end since it happens wherever

The 8800GT is so "several years ago". If I recall, it was a hot cheap thing when I was in 8th or 9th grade... Which is almost 5 years ago. I play fine using a 4 year old laptop that uses an obsolete graphics card (admittedly I play on medium-low, but get smooth fps in return... And it still looks fine.). I have no doubt my younger brother's (turning 14) quadcore/ubercomp can run it on max easily (as I have seen how it runs games I have to run on medium-low at max settings, and it angers me wi

I would attribute it a lot more to the troubling economy, which would push independent developers to get their games out faster, albeit in a more fragile and unfinished condition. THQ for example is taking huge hits, and owns the license for the Warhammer series, and by extension Dawn of War II. Blizzard, on the other hand, is still quite successful and is taking their sweet time with Starcraft II to work out all the kinks.

It sounds like from what I've read that multiplayer is synonymous with custom games, whereas there are skirmish and pantheon, of which pantheon is easiest to get a game going in (1-2 minutes-ish, more during the deep dark nights when everyone else is mostly asleep). Unfortunately, you'll also find the worst newbies in pantheon as well. Go figure.

I found I disliked Rook because even if I could outrun enemy demigods, the attack swing's animation was too slow and I couldn't deal damage at all. It might also have been because the stupid custom game host set starting gold to 10k, thereby defeating the purpose and utility of early-game hammer ganking to take the lead.

I've recently been having success going: DV followed by 1-2 points in stats, then max out DV and Maim and then Sniper's Scope. I use a combination of the Swift Anklet and Boots of Speed (Though I'm considering just saving for the Wyrmskin Gloves) to get out there, cap a flag or two, then kill some creeps for an easy level 3. I try to avoid fighting enemy Demigods until I'm about level 7-10, where I most likely have most of my item slots filled with basic weapon damage and hp/mp items
