As there seem to still be those of us who love to customize Windows in all it's forms I am happy to report that the following Stardock / Wincustomize programs have been installed on my box, running WX build 9888 , and they work smoothly, no install hiccups... always choose the latest versions as there are multiples of the same program for differ

I am "on the fence" about W8... I REALLY miss all the functionality and eye-candy that Stardock/Wincustomize provide... my W7 desktop is rocking and it will be a close call as to whether or not W8 provides enough incentive to switch! That's a first for me...from the original W2.0 to W3.1 and on and on...the update was reason enough to change up... but now, with W7 being so solid the choice will be a tough one. If our wonderful tech staff can overcome the problems that M

I recently installed IE9 RC and since that point I can only view the WinCustomize Forums pages... all other WinCustomize pages are all out of sync showing bits and pieces of the site making navigation a really tricky experience. Has anyone else been affected by this and if so have you found a fix? Thanks in advance, Keymac

Time for me to test the waters... I have run into this situation a number of times and the following has always worked for me (ususally the problem arose after doing numerous installs and/or un-installs, for whatever reason) Go to Start and type in (without the quotes) msconfig and doubleclick on the .exe entry. This will bring up a screen of various options, the on

It used to be that one would aspire to greater heights in no small way influenced by the works that had surrounded you. Master Skinners are a creative entity whose body of works, as wonderfully diverse as they are, shine light into dark corners and give impetus to those who simply want to experiment and share their creations with this community. My hat is off to All of the Skinners, those that occasionally see a pittance in reward for their work, and those who earn only kudo's for their time

uh, a little quiet here please... soldiers need rest after all the excitement or they get a little mixed up and say the opposite to what everyone else says. Let me be perfectly clear... Stardock may not always be perfect but they do try and that is more than a lot of internet sites can crow about. I consider my money and time well spent with Stardock. This version shows the commitment to quality programs for which Stardock et al is well known! Side by side comparisons of the original legacy products shows just how far we have come, from the pixelated past to the smooth rendering of todays offerings... Kudos to Stardock group of artists! I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit RTM on my primary drive and after installing beta 2 I initially had no issues... out of the blue it has gone south on me. The launch of WB beta causes a shutdown of the program with the cryptic " a problem has caused ..." and the program closes. This has me befuddled because I have a RC build 7229 on another drive and it works without a problem. Has anyone else run into this or have I missed a a previous post?

[e digicons]:digichet:[/e] Thanks for an interesting review... I have also been wringing W7 out and it has been so stable that it is my default OS. I began with Build 7000 and grabbed the newer builds as they became available, and I am currently running Build 7057 (64 bit) on my RAID drives, 7057 (32 bit) and VISTA Ultimate 64 on other drives. My experience score is 6.2 (Quad core 2.66 ghz, 8G RAM, HD3870 ATI video, 5 TB storage ) I have run into a

I must agree with you on a few key points... somewhere! But I jest.. the flamers and the anal retentive disgruntled who misuse the forums are a tiny percentage of the vast community who thoroughly enjoy your posts and the fact that you care deeply about your role in Stardock per se. You have achieved a state of existence most can only dream of, or be jealous of... I admire a "hands on" and "real" approach! The continued success of this community is depen

im on Vista 64 bit and it runs fine for me.. boot skins would be cool but the default boot screen just flashes across my screen so fast I dont really get to look at it... I'm stumped... Vista 64, with or without SP1 will not change boot up screens, keeps the crappy Vista one... when I apply LogOnVista it takes me to the 3FingerSalute screen and doesn't take effect! Are there any parameters that you changed that I should be aware of? As far as your screen flying by, thats a problem lots

Anyone running XP or Vista 32 bit can change boot screens as well as log in screens with TuneUp Utilities 2007/2008. It will not run on 64 bit and SP1 causes conflicts with other program modules... hopefully LogonStudioVista will be compatible with 64 bit Vista (and maybe add a boot screen app as well!!!) Best of all worlds... :HOT:

Another answer for Vista users is TuneUp Utilities 2007 / 2008. They will allow boot skin replacement with items from their libraries. They will not work on Ultimate 64 bit running SP1 at this time. It appears that this SP creates a false report that you're joined to a network without rights to modify while joined to that "network" I have requested clarification from the company but as of yet had no reply. Do any upcoming Stardock apps reme

Refer to my earlier post...EasyBCD and VistaBootPro allow you to set the boot drive from an easy menu system and they both WORK! I used both over a long period of early Vista Beta testing while running 3 OS's on 4 drives... now that I am using Ultimate 64 full time I don;t need to bother, but as I say, they both work well... good luck!

Looks like the future is finally arriving and was worth waiting for! And I echo Kevin_C, I do a lot of beta testing and re-formats are a way of life and so is time spent in wading thru all those licences etc... can't wait for the beta release!

I am a "fringer", i.e. I mainly skate the periphery of all that Stardock offers, plucking at the things that I find interesting. I have participated in some Forums and have dabbled with Log-ons, still working on making a decent Dream... my comment, to one and all, is that if the quality of the offered discussions and opinions speak for the community at large, then this community is alive, alert and well read. The very continued existen

Give the poor man a break... it must be rough to be him if it is this rough to hear him... wanna seamless (BORING) computing experience Chazcon? Show him where the Apple store is! There are at least two solid dual boot apps... VistaBootPro and EasyBCD. I have used both and had no problem using them..I had 3 OS's on tap..Vista 32, Vista 64 and XP Media Center. I was able to pick and choose at will. They both have utilities to rectify any problems with boots... hope this helps.

:HOT: Time to wade in... I've lived with Vista now going on over two years... beta 32 & 64 bit... ran 4 HD's, one 32, one 64 and primary drive XP Media edition... After living with Vista Ultimate 64 bit for 2 months as my ONE & ONLY OS I have had time to get re-acquainted with the pleasures of tweaking the visual side of my box. Stardock is THE answer to a multitude of disciplines, although I limit myself mainly to skins and dreams. From the sound of it, I will have lots to experiment with

I see by the date/time stamp that it was uploaded in the evening, but it doesn't seem to be posted for download as of yet... I am looking forward to trying it out... btw, if you like tropical themes I am working on one that might catch your eye. I'm a newbie so I have to work some wrinkles out... :d
