Orbital 2000, welcome. :) The Metaverse is basically dead at this point. The game has reached the end of its lifespan for the huge majority of players. Most people have moved on to other games, including Galactic Civilizations III. No, there is no multiplayer. Maiden, great to see you and that you have been doing some ZYWs, hehe. I just finished up playing some Age of Wonders III, then went back to play some Civilization V, and next I'll probably be playing Pillars o

I'm a fan of SC2 in particular, and while I'd prefer to see the original alien races be used, if that is not possible, I'll still be very interested to see what Stardock comes up with. It's certainly better than not trying at all. Ideas such as cuorebrave had are a good place to start. I will be swaiting the game eagerly.

Hey Maiden and Mina. :) I just became aware of Beyond earth a couple days ago. Have not checked it out yet, but certainly will soon! I got my star name in GC3, just simply "Kzin". Sentient species taste better...
We already have 'some control' over our fleets...it's the way we design them. Tactical combat people want control over each ships actions during a battle. That doesn't belong in a TBS like galciv. Case in point.
I guess you never played Master of Orion. ;)

I enjoy the colony rush period of a game, and wouldnt want to see it made even easier than in GC2. It is after all a 4x game, with expansion being one of the major components. In any case, no matter how difficult it might be construed inititally, SoleSoul and Magnumaniac should break it in no time at all. [e digicons][/e]

I agree with Rooks. The idea of complex ground combat definitely sounds fun, but in a 4x space-conquest game it would be too much of a time-drain if you had to fight every battle tactically.

I've played a handful of games recently, not for score, but just for fun. Huge or Gigantic abundant maps with everything but influence or conquest victory turned off, and foregoing any of the exploitative tactics that have been used for scoring in the past. I played until it was obvious I was going to win, then stopped. The cleanup part at the end of the game becomes too tedious to play til the end. Good fun! :D <img src="http://i249.photobuck

Multiple MCCs definitely not MV legal. But like was said before, almost nobody is using the MV anymore, so cheat and exploit to your heart's content. ;) Sentient species taste better...

I am not aware if Maiden used that for his game or not, but in my opinion it doesnt seem like it should be MV legal, as the MCC is clearly designed to be a unique wonder, and getting multiples of them could only be done by exploiting one of the two bugs. Is taking advantage of one bug less exploitative than the other? Not really. I know I said to the Kzinti at one point that anything that allows multiple MCCs is clearly not an intended part of the game, and it should

Well, considering you cant get multiple Mind-Control Centers without using a cheat/exploit (of which some of us have been aware for quite a while), I dont see much point in documenting it. ;) Edit: If I remember correctly, I think the Kzinti and ToE talked about this at one point, and agreed to never use it. Maybe a Tyrant can tell me if I'm remembering accurately. <img src="http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg212/mbeyna/newkzintibanner1.png" alt="" width="264" heig
