Actually if you have Pentium D (with gf9300 ...?????) check if youre mobo supports Core 2 Duo procesors, althoug both use LGA775 socket the the power grid requirements are not the same (lower voltage with higher current) and it might not be supported. .. and if this is a lappy then Im 99% percent certain that it will not ... mosty lappys dont support the whole c2d serries ...

Actually if you have a single core cpu or a real slow Dualcore (think lowend mobile) no ammount of tonning down graphics will help ... sim speed means game siimulation speed (and is handled on a seperate thread) and if your cpu cant calculate a game second per realtime second or less then - You're screwed and whats worse - you screw eveyone as well...

I mean were is the home fleet? dont tell me those 7 ships that went to vulcan were it? Where are orbital defenses? where are the god damed IC
Ah yess :D and since its based on a SupCom engine Save games get HUGE with more units - I have supcom saves 250+ mb so while they wont become that big we are talking about 10+ that possibly go to 50+MB in very late game ... who the hell will wait for that long to download?
Yeah, it's funny how running with no sound can make such a big difference
Are you runnning DG on single core cpu?
I'm running on q6600, 4gb ram, 98gtx+, xfi. Vista 64. Runs Fine never drops below 2 Sim speed goes -10 to +10 0 being REALTIME. +1 or +2 means cpu can handle sim computations at double or smth ... sorry the scale isnt exactly clear here. if your sim speed is 0+ the game should run FINE .. at least the sim speed. Now supcom engine is NOTORIOUS for CPU usage - its just the way it works. It has very good physics but that comes at a price. It can spawn up to 17 treads or smthn, bu
Well to be comepeltly honest i Pirated My copy 2 days ahead of launch :) well ... I was intrigued by the idea and the treilers (even considered preorder) but then I kinda looked at it closer and more carefully .. as in - its a new dota and wavered ... but after dloading it and playing on hamachi I was hooked and bougt it immediatly on realease :) .... exept I dont play it now because of conenction issues (spend as much time getting into a games as playing it .. even then I get a lot of DC wit
:D most likely Never. network engine is the way it is and would need a complete overhaul there fore to much work.
Well SupCom is Unplayable with AI (barely playbe MP on small maps) on single core and since DG uses supcoms engine its the same thing - since there are far fewer units in DG (well maybe yhey are smarter :) ) its playable with singlecore. But I wouldnt expect great performance from it.
