There are a lot of unwashed foul mouthed individuals bashing people over the head with their collective ignorance both on the forums and on the IRC channel. Consolidating this info into one post is a great idea because following the journals is far too difficult for some. Maybe... just maybe they will stop after reading this. Who am I kidding its tl;dr But you sir get [e digicons]k1[/e] karma from me for trying! [e digicons]\o/[/e] And lolcats are aw

Well Deepjay I can either fault my comprehension of what you said or how you said it but in the end that does not matter. The idea is more important so lets talk about that. With the clarification you just made I would still lean towards the first part of my post - That is that the proposed changes you would like to see is future expansion material. Frogboy has made it pretty clear that this is only the beginning and that there are plenty of plans to grow Demigod beyond the in

Maybe thats something for future expansions to work towards but at the moment the biggest thing to keep in mind is aesthetics have to take a back seat to balance and gameplay. If everybody was running around with the kind of power you are talking about the game would be nothing but running to the centre, mashing some buttons then running back from the respawn because everybody died in a cataclysmic whirlwind of devastation. It would be like trying to balance a feather on the s

Well you are right in the sense that Stardock does not really have any binding contract to provide support for years. There is an unwritten contract however and its called having some principles. I realise this can be a completely alien concept for a company to have these days but there it is all the same. No I don't speak of Stardock like this game has been out for months. I speak of Stardock as a company that has been around for years. GPG and Stardock developed Demigod together. As

I hear its quite painful. Plus if I mush it all up maybe they wont vent it quite so often. Edit: Btw am I just blind and missed any post preview functionality? Kitkun's quotes have horrid reminders of my first draft [e digicons];P[/e] I find it really hard to proof read the tiny little submission box and its tiny little characters.

So I walk into my local EB this afternoon to check on my Demigod preorder. When I was last in several weeks ago they were unable to confirm the status of incoming collectors editions but I threw down my money and pre ordered anyway. I preordered because at the time Demigod had just been released Stateside, it was getting hammered in reviews. I wanted to show my support for Frogboy, the teams at Stardock and GPG as well as quality made for PC gaming. I doubted it would count for much b

Name of Demigod: Bryn Type of Demigod: General Backstory: After many thousands of years serving as a Valkyrie in the heavenly host Bryn grew frustrated with the mandate of non interference with the lower realms. Having witnessed death beyond the scope or mortal comprehension Bryn increasingly felt the suffering of brave men and women at the hands of dark forces was senseless when she had the considerable power to prevent it.</

I'm pretty sure you or something you control has to tag it. If it was based on proximity a lot of the ranged DG's could easily get shafted (or the radius would be huge) No worries Boffinboy - maybe you could experiment vs the AI? play the same map several times with and without minions and keep an eye on how quickly you generate cash. Maybe you'll discover something else entirely by accident in the process.

Yah I cleaned up my post a bit - got things a little better straightened out as I hit submit before I reread your post and picked up on a few more details that slightly altered what I should have said. I do stand by the point that if you are falling behind on cash and levels then the issue revolves around keeping up on kills. But my knee jerk reaction on seeing 'I play healing support Sedna - but I'm falling behind' should have probably been a wee bit more tempered by reading
I've played a wide variety of games and tend to be drawn to healer/defensive philosophies. I think its a personality type thing and I do know that there is a certain type of person who prefer reactionary strategies and/or helping out a team and find that much more fun/effective/comfortable. Like a lot of people playing Demigod I used to play WoW. I played a Priest right from release and was heavily involved with raiding up until several months after BC came out - at which point

Also with that targeting crosshair one... if you target yourself hoping to get heal you could fireball yourself and die [e digicons]XD[/e] The orb could summon an AI controlled entity that is a floating bone that moves really fast around the map. Any Unclean Beast that gets within... say a 50 yard radius of the floating bone loses control of their demigod and is forced to chase the bone as it zips around the map until it is either caught or the effect expires. Also make this

Yah! Thats the idea [e digicons];)[/e] You activate it is a general... and all of your minions defect to the other side as AI controlled hostiles with you as their highest priority target. The announcer says "Viva la Revolution" and follows up with "Guillotined" if your own minions kill you. You activate it and the game screen flips upside down for 30 seconds. Everything still works if you can manage it of course... Upon activation the annoucer says "By the Power of G

You just need to speak their language. Avast Mateys. Heave to and harken to this dire missive. Hidden booty would be better spent upon a true copy of Demigod when next ye be in port. Amnesty granted for those grizzled sea dogs who heed this warning else cursed ye be. Forever shall ye dance the hornpipe in Hades with a glowing hot spike up ye jacksie should ye fail to cross Frogboy's palm with silver. Thanks Teseer [e digicons]:)[/e] Chip in some more ideas for effects! How about grants 50+ hp per second but freezes you in place with no access to abilities for 7 seconds. You die instantly when you activate the orb... but next time you die you respawn instantly where you died on full hp and mana? You activate the orb then the annoucer says "Blue... no Green!" and everybody in the arena is thrown off the map. More ideas!

22 Replies 6,755 Views

Well I was using just about to die as an example. Obviously if you are not about to die teleporting 15 yards goes from life saving to a 'nothing' effect. I could see people triggering it hoping to get the meteor effect only to be teleported off the map. Now thats just damn funny [e digicons][/e] Maybe it could provide you with a temporary mana regen buff. Again this could be really good if you need mana or it could be a 'nothing' effect if you have full mana. There would be no

I was just reading this thread where whoppin referred to the Orb of Veiled Storms as the "orb of something or other" and it inspired me to think what the Orb of Something or Other would do. After being initially amused by the thought I now think it could be an interesting addition to the artifact shop. Basically the idea is for the Orb to produce a random effect. Some may recognise the idea as being similar to the Deck of Many Things from DnD. Because th

Orb of Veiled Storms - 500 damage I like the name Orb of Something or Other though... perhaps it can be added later. I can see it now - activate for random effect.. such as summoning sheep minions, dealing some damage, healing the nearest enemy demigod, building a tower next to where you are standing, call down a meteor on your position, grant you temporary regen... the possibilities are endless but it will do something or other [e digicons];P[/e]

Not having any AoE abilities, she depends on her minions to take care of multiple targets.
I would not discount the 200 damage in 15 yard radius bonus effect on Heal IV that Sedna has. While I admit its straying into item territory its also worth bearing in mind the general favor item Cloak of Night, arguably the best favor item for a general and highly likely to be worn by Sedna, has a 100 damage AoE effect. Calm down man. You are obviously quite frustrated which is a natural response to beating your head against a problem like this but I think you need to walk away for a moment and come back with a clear head. Gabbelgak and wordtaint have already made a valid suggestion that you have overlooked because you were a bit worked up over things. In fact you yourself have even mentioned that pro players would advise you to run away. Running away does not necessarily mean loading up on teleporta
