In most circumstances, however, it seems intuitively beneficial to focus fire regardless - even if it takes longer due to mitigation, it would still be faster than splitting up your fleet to engage multiple targets. -HD

I think there's already a built-in ship stacking button, Pmutzu, in the top left. It's to the right of the search, I think it looks like overlapping boxes. I do, however, like your idea of the research stations listed in the top bar along with credits, ore and crystal. I think the research window used to tell you how many stations you had, but that was removed (or so I've heard). Would be handy. -HD

You guys fixed the thread list for Opera users! Thanks, it's very much appreciated... even if I'm the only one who notices :) -HD

I don't think so... the Advent (I believe) have a low level tech that increases research speed. But other than that... building more than 8 research stations is a waste, unless you want some redundancy. -HD

Hey folks, So I just realized the other day that apparently the forums don't display correctly for me in Opera. Does anyone else have this issue? I didn't even realize until I used IE for the first time in weeks the other day, maybe it's just my settings or something. I think it's only a problem for the thread list, the posts themselves seem to be fine. Here's a quick SS I took the other day: http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f262/HomelessDepot/forum.jpg -

I didn't know you could resize the window, are you sure? I would love to be able to play in window mode at a higher resolution so I could alt-tab out and use my second monitor for browsing, music, etc without minimizing. I can't span the window, though, as my LCD's have different native resolutions and I feel like it would look bizarre. -HD

I actually read book five first, which is basically a retelling of book one from the persepctive of a secondary character (Bean), and actually prefered it to the origional telling when I finally got around to reading book one. I think it's a bit more complex, which I liked. Plus, reading about a rediculous genius child who's smarter than even Ender, who is himself a rediculous genius child, is always fun. Anyway, I see the similarities, although the scale of Card's fiction is larger.<

This would be a nice, quick addition; on larger maps I would like to be able to assign regional labels to fleets to help remember who's where. -HD

I believe the squadron cap is increased as the Cap ship levels, Garrett. It's automatic. Somebody around here can probably provide the specific requirements for specific ships, but I can't recall them off the top of my head. However, the Advent does have tech that increases, I believe, the size of squadrons. -HD

Hmm, I'm not sure I've noticed this, except in the case of Cap ships auto-targeting planets for bombardment breaking off to attack a newly arrived enemy fleet. But I believe that if I give them an explicit command, ie right click the planet, they don't cease the bombardment to kill enemies who enter the gravity well. If this happens the way you say though, I agree that's pretty annoying. You can shift right-click to queue explicit attack commands to specific targets though, ha
If you buy direct digital download that's not an issue. If it doesn't run on your system you get a full refund as long as you at least contact support to try to resolve. devs is this true ????
Hah, somebody doesn't know who Frogboy is, hehe. -HD

I agree with Kade, but what if the orbiting structures just became neutral, ceased supplying resources, and became the property of the next colonizing empire? That could still be problematic I suppose, since you would lose planetary resource income after a successful siege frigate attack, and you might need those resources to retake the planet and recover within a reasonable amount of time. I guess the problem still boils down to the much-reviled siege frigate spam strategy, which make
