Hmm, I'd never heard of the sound issue in SupCom. I never actually had any issues that were soudn related in that game, but it looks like that was primarily for XFi (I'm running Audigy2). Lets hope we have better luck this time =P

I've had the same issue as Aryanna and Tals, that is to say, it's been completely remedied by removing audio (except for the lack of audio x.x ) Concerning the AI calls, I would agree that something's a bit off with the overall efficiency of the code based on what I've heard, and I have a few friends who all say that the game runs better in multiplayer. Like Aryanna, multiplayer is something I've been avoiding (except for a few lan games with aforementioned friends, since their simspe
Well, then for the love of god don't change it to quadrophonic xD It's really kind of an interesting issue, I've never heard of a system bottlenecking on sound until this. I'd be really intrigued if it weren't happening to me -.-
Aye, I've heard of a lot of cases of this happening with a number of different characters, but I've noticed it the most while playing erebus. It seems like some kind of pathing issue, which could help explain why it seems so prevalent in Erebus (since he needs to be so close to connect). Once you realize what's happening you can quickly click to move then reissue thecommand at very little loss of time, but that's hardly a fix =P Also can easily spell your doom if it happens mi
I'm also running into the same issues; I run a Creative Audigy 2, and a number of people (myself included) have found that changing the device settings from Quadraphonic to Desktop Stereo in the control panel made a significant difference. For me, it made the game fairly playable again, but even then only barely (huge increase though compared to what it originally was). Changing the in game sound options to low helped a little, but it was the difference between ~a -3 sim speed and a
[quote who="Aryanna" reply="20" id="2156929"] Quoting Shirley, reply 18 LATEST ISSUE: It appears that there are issues with Google Desktop and Demigod on Windows XP. Does this apply to anyone in this thread having issues? I am running on XP, but my issue is slightly different. With /nosound on, I get a nice 30-40 FPS in single player. With the sound on, my FPS drops to 2-3 FPS halfway through a single player match. I am runn
I like the builds, specifically the item builds (I always have a hard time deciding what to buy, this gives me something to work towards which keeps me from FORGETTING to buy anything.) Regarding the Nightwalker build, I usually forgo mist until later in the game (and even then only invest one point as a last ditch evasion tactic) and will instead max out Bite and get the first point in bat swarm. Bat swarm will let me mow through a huge swath of enemies later in the game, completely
A lot of people have been having success with changing their audio settings from Quadraphonic or 5.1 Surround to Desktop Stereo (Control Panel->Sound and Audio, then click the Audio Tab, and then Advanced under your sound playback). It worked for me, but even then it lags up quite a bit until I actually use the /nosound startup value (right click your Demigod Shortcut and in the Target value, add /nosound after the quotes) not the best workaround since it leaves you
I've had a few issues like this where skills weren't performing, or weren't performing on time; the most notable I can think of was as Erebus, where using Bite over and over and over and over again on a stationary target never actually used the skill. Also a number of pathfinding issues where issuing a command to attack saw my demigod standing in place looking wistfully at the enemy rather than following his retreat to kill. Overall these were limited instances for me, though. Wi
Creative stopped supporting the Audigy2 a bit prematurely, and that was awhile go so I don't expect to see a fix from their side of things anytime soon, but I THINK I saw someone else have these kinds of issues with the Audigy 4 as well, and perhaps even with other equipment (no references on that though), so I can't help but feel like the audio engine itself needs some tweaking (I can't help but mentioning that I never had these issues on SupCom, not that that's relevant)
I'm running an SB Audigy 2 (no longer supported/no new drivers) which seems to be one of the culprits for sound-related lag. I've tried changing the default settings from Quadraphonic to Desktop Stereo in the control panel as noted, and have seen a fairly significant performance increase, but the game still only barely plugs along (less than playable if I weren't so addicted). I'm running a single core AMD clocked at 2.9ghz which, I know, isn't ideal for this game, but the rest of my system s
