Kiwi here. Latency to Americans is about 280 for me here in Wellington. definitely playable (anything under 350 is) but half of north Americans will kick you for ping over 200 (from my experience) in custom games. that being said there is a nice little Aussie/kiwi crowd that is fun to play with (bar a couple of knobs) Hope that helps. I've had the game since digital release and aisde from the connection problems in the past its been well worth the purchase
Silk23
Works well for me finally :) (In NZ)
Is it possible to get this into the actual game? Or at least not have the /allow mismatch nonsense? Nice work mate! Modders are fantastic!
Are those bad numbers? Looks good to me
Awesome, can't wait to ge thome and give it a whirl! been waiting for this one for weeks!!
Thompson/Alcatel SpeedTouch 536v6 - thats what I have. What a pain in the arse
Wish I wasnt at work so I can play
Hey Frogboy. I hope you do read this post As sad is this sounds I've been thinking about how to re-spark interest in Demigod at least in my corner of the world (Not that it is doing badly of course but all teh negative posts and news brings it down some). I know that Stardock does not deal with retail distribution outside of North America but you could boost digital sales in New Zealand and possibly Australia by pushing for reviews from gameplan
I thought Silk23 was trying to sell me his copy for a second, is JB in the Hutt ? Thank you for your fast replies, Sounds like things are moving fast which is good, I think I can't help myself and have to give Demigod a try it just looks like such fun.
Haha, I'll keep mine thanks. JB HiFi is in the city, on Willis street in the BNZ tower <a href="http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/stores/new-zealand/north-island/wellingt
I enjoy it. Connection issues are getting better but not perfect. It wil be better for us kiwis once smart proxying is up this week. Even with all the issues I find the game itself an absolute blast and enjoy a couple of games a night. P.S. If you are in Wellington and do want to buy it get it from JBhifi. Better yet buy it online, its about $64 NZD (2.8 GB)
Looking forward to 1.1 too. Bring it on. I'd say that there will be a pretty steady community for this game as long as the patch comes out in a timely manner and the connectivity issues are resolved ASAP. You have a rabidly loyal following already. From my perspective I like a game or two a night of demigod. Even with all the connection issues (And I've had a lot) I've had it's still is an absolute blast to play. I play other games but this is the only good multi player game I
Ok, so what happens if you do DC heaps and it shows up on your stats? Do you get in trouble or anything or does it only affect stats? If it does only affect stats who cares? It's a game
You are probably being proxied. Are you in Europe or Australia?
The effects of sim speed and lag constantly get mixed up, especially with games with a mix of people from different countries. Last night I had my first ever 5v5 (Thanks ...I think his name was Luckus_Ruckus for not kicking me with a 300 ping by the way, that was pretty awesome) and because of my location someone automatically blamed me for the game chugging/slowing down. When you looked at the details though there were at least 2 people with a 1 sim speed and one person who said I was probab
yay for smart proxies!
Hi Frogboy, I really don't like hassling you about it but do you know whne smart proxies will be good to go? It would be nice to be able to get decent proxy pings to people in the Oceania region (I'm in New Zealand). Thanks, Silk
Kiwi here!
Agreed. Sim speed is more of an issue. I can't count the number of times that peopel have had a go at me because of my ping yet they have a starting sim speed of 1 Maps get tired because we cant play them all, just cataract over andover mainly because of connectivity issue when there are more than 3v3. More 3v3 maps would be great
Can't speak for others but I am sick of playing Cataract and the other maps don't get played mainly because of connectivity issues with over 3v3. More 3v3 maps would be good in my eyes. sim speed is the biggest contributor to laggy games in my opinion. I've had people complain about my ping and then when we start the game they have a sim speed of 1
Please don't sell map packs, tehy fracture a community. Sell new demigods and the like sure but map packs restrict who you can play with. As for the 350 ping comment, fair enough if you don't get much love from it.
Do we know if smart proxies were included? Cheers
As someone said earlier if you do create micro expansions please make sure people with it can still play against vanilla demigod owners. Dont fragment the community. Think the Company of Heroes model. I would happily buy a micro expansion just like I did with Sins. As long as the connection issues are sorted of course As for maps if it is possible to have amap editor get it out to the community. You have a very loyal (some too loyal) fanbase following which love the game. Get th
Yep, just like me. roll on the smart proxies!
Thanks for the update FB. Looking forward to the smart proxies. Roll on Wednesday (your tuesday) !
