LOL If we nuked every major city on the coast line, we would get rid of enough politicians and liberals to forever forget global warming, and a ton of other bullshit. If some of you were a little older, you would recall the upcoming Ice Age crap that we had in the 70's. The current NASA global warming advocate was touting global cooling back then. When your meteorologist can figure out the weather a week in advance, I'll start to have a

Wow, i knew i shouldn't have disagreed with Pacov. I agree with Spongematt that it really breaks the balance of Crucible (and to a much lesser extent, Exile). I guess I disagree with the judgement of the programmers then. On the other hand, a Crucible game with Erebus/Oak (cloak of night) teams in a mirror match sounds like a blast. Gonna have to try that one out.
I don't believe it but I actually disagree with Pacov on something Demigod. Pacov-"I personally don't have any problem with this mechanic and have to think that perhaps the developers had it in mind." I believe if the designers had this in mind for Erebus, Regulus would be able to fly over the gaps with wings of fury, and generals and assassins would be able to buy Cloak of Night. I also believe that long trek into battle, and even longer trek to the gold flag were not m
X-fire is also a free solution.

I'm at the farthest point DSL is available, supposed to have a 768 dsl. My speakeasy test showed 527 DL and 249 upload. I can play 3v3 just fine. Over 6 players is usually unplayable. Good luck, you'll love the game.
I've been computer gaming since Doom, Doom II, Duke Nukem. We have a LAN group that goes back to those days. We almost always have somebody who's downloaded an 'evaluation' copy of almost any game published. Most of the group will buy retail copies of any of the games we like and play consistently. We all upgrade our computers regularly, and most of us build our own machines. I would have to believe that our group is pretty much a 'hard core' gaming group. <
Demigod is a great game ! Great pace, relatively easy to learn, great to play against or with friends. Some variety in demigod selection, but what really makes it great is variety in team chemistry. Game AI is never as devious, creative, nasty as human play choices. That's what makes it great ! Ganks, traps, fakes, and feints make each online game different. A few online cheaters and jerks, but generally, a good community. Still a couple bugs, but ove
After a game today, I think i'd almost prefer a rage quit to a guy who plants at his citadel and spends the rest of the game complaining about 1 of his partners, who was still trying to play the game. No way anyone can blame the programmers or publishers of Demigod for the occasional idiot who forgets it's just a game. Thank God there are a lot more 'fun' players than yoyo's out there. It would still be nice to see the remaining bugs and exploits fixed. That one belo
I was in mid game online when my computer started an xfire update that shut down the game, sending me to desktop.
For DG's with no heal or shield, the sigil is a can be the saving difference, whether in a fight or fleeing. If there is space for it, not dying is worth more than 500 gold. I don't want to use a sigil every trip out from the crystal tho. That money could be spent on permanent items. In a 1v1 game, I love the sigil early. Those first few fights determine the game. Build up an early equipment advantage and the opponent can't start to turn a flag wit
The beauty of the TB design is he has more good abilities than you can chose in 1 build. I still love BotS and Ice Rain. Grab a Plenor and you can refill mana with every Ice Rain. And do it from a safe distance. Working on a corner tower, wait for the creep wave, trigger BotS, nail em both, then switch forms and fireball, with no damage taken. Chasing a retreating DG in ice mode (because you can run and fire there), drop a killing ice rain on him when he's low enough.
ZehDon - you might be onto something the programmers need to know. If it doesn't happen on VPN, and, believe me, it DOES happen on the net, maybe that will help in the diagnosis. If there's something about the VPN connection that eliminates the problem, maybe that helps find the flaw in the programming/bug/irritant. And there still needs to be another solution when somebody doesn't figure he should take a loss, so h
Find a friend/neighbor and lug your computer over there.
Demalii: The game's still worth playing. The 'invalid gamestate' seems to hit me about 1 game in 15, and can be caused by players pulling the plug to avoid a loss, or game crashes. No way to be sure that I've heard of. You just got l
I always thought UB was just a redneck.
I had to delete the documents\mygames\gas powered games\demigod folder itself. Sets your options and single player back to zero.
I guess I'm lucky to have had a pretty large, consistent LAN group for computer games. That is the best way to experience most computer games. Vent, xfire, or other voice chat while gaming is almost as good. It's worth the small effort to set it up. I like xfire, because it's simple. A couple of button clicks after a small download and you 're set. Quick to add new people to the chat too. Vent is great. You're really missing some of the experien
Have to agree with the Green One. Demigod's only an 'OK' single player game. It really shines with live partners and opponents. It's the best online game i've ever experienced. And I'll put Stardock second only to the Carver Bros. (Links386-Links2003 golf) for their game and communicating with the players. (You will hit #1 when the de-sync is gone.) DA is pretty cool, too. Had a partner dump the opponent in my lap a couple times last night with the
The 'spectator slot' could also be a game sync place-holder, a point of reference incase of dropped/desynced players. Interesting. There are new games coming out. I loved Left 4 Dead (1), but it had nowhere near the long appeal that Demigod has. After the first few times through the maps, it's pretty much toast. No LAN in the pc version of Modern Warefare 2 will limit my long term interst. Besides, those are FPS games. Th
To heavenlysynn: No mods used. Good Lord, i hadn't even contemplated what mods will do to the game and sync! To Ironrock: That will work. I was hoping for a solution within the current peer to peer setup. I would think a dedicated server would be fine. Even the host serving each game could be workable. Might be tough for borderline connections to host and play in the game, like my 512 DSL. My hope was a simple d
I remember reading this in the 1.2 Patch Partial Change Log: Notable Bug Fixes: · Fixes a serious desync that could potentially resolve a number of problem cases in MP. Post-patch, I'm finding de-syncs after a player concedes to be more frequent. I know the 'invalid gamestate' is some players' favorite way to avoid a loss. I know some pretty reputable players are complaining about more cra
I guess I wasn't as clear as I thought. I've had a lot of other people leave, disconnect, desync. I myself have not lost connection, even tho pards and opponents have counted down and left. And I have a relatively slow dsl connection. I do get the 'invalid gamestate' at times. Usually when winning, and right after an opponent concedes. I'm just wondering if the proxied connection is more robust than the others.
I've noticed a lot more players going thru the countdown and dropping from games. I don't have an explanation for it, but it doesn't seem to happen to me. I usually play running the '/serverproxyonly' switch. I'm starting to think that i'm less likely to lose connection because i am proxied. Anybody else have a thought on this??
I'm one of those guys who suck and should quit - over 450 games at 40%. I really enjoy the game. I like to win, and I don't like losing, but I really enjoy the game. I've got a couple friends to play premade with on xfire. Makes the game even better. If you haven't tried voice premade, you really should. Most of my gaming has been at a long-running LAN group. Mostly weekly, going back to Duke Nukem and Doom2. We have 2 other members of the LA
