I tend to agree with most of Zechnophobe, I've been watching some of my own replays - and even against friends of mine these mistakes are present. Replays help a lot. I find that I've died a lot less since I've been watching them, although now I can be a little too cautious at times. I agree with the item spending too. Spending 5 or 6k on an item is fine if there are no upgrades necessary and cash is plentiful, but often times getting the store-brand generic items and a currency upgrade works out better in the long run.
Yeah, I recently tried out Staff of Renewal and am loving it. I've only got 53 games played, so I'm still pretty new, but I would say that I'm hitting at about 50% or so in the last few days. Here's the build I've been using: Favor: Staff of Renewal Skills: 1. Snipe 1 2. Scope 1 3. Mines 1 4. Snipe 2 5. Mines 2 6. Scope 2 7. Snipe 3 8. Mines 3 9. MotB 1 10. Snipe 4 11. Mines 4 12. M
Three times now since I've been playing the game the graphics will go bonkers in the middle of a game. The colors look like they're trying to draw on top of themselves and the text becomes unreadable. The first time it happened I was barely able to keep playing but so badly crippled that it was pointless. The other two times as soon as I tried to scroll the map the graphics got worse and I had no choice but to get out to Task Manager and close the game. I have a GeForce 9800GT with th
mana is good for early game
I've noticed this too. Seems like up to about level 8 or so mana can be a big problem and spending time and money on mana pots is a disaster. I kinda wish that the Staff of Renewal offered more than +175 mana. I thought about saving up for the 1375 FP item that lets you cast free for 3 seconds, but that has its own drawbacks. One problem with Rook is that in order to deal meaningful damage(to
Hey folks...going through my lumps as a new player isn't a whole lot of fun. I've gotten through the "I have no idea what I'm doing" phase, but am still struggling badly to win games. I'd like to join or create a team of about 5 people and try and play a few nights a week in 3v3 or 4v4. Vent or Teamspeak would be great. Anywho, leave a message if interested one way or another.
I tried it in a few games, lost them all. Not that it was any worse than the tower build... Getting so frustrating. I try switching to another class and I lose some more. I think what I really need desperately is to find a fixed set of teammates that I can talk to on Vent. Cause...losing every game sucks. Then people make it worse.
Cool build. That was a sick game you had on the first video. It seems a little more mobile and powerful than a tower build, to be honest. That isn't to say that a buttload of towers won't work sometimes, but this is another avenue to go down. One thing that seemed a little concerning was how many skill saves you had. 2 at level 3, 2 at level 9, 4 at level 15. In a tight game where XP is tough to come by waiting that long to get a new skill could be awful.
I usually buy Banded and buy 2 tele's and immediately warp to a flag. If I spent 400 on Scale, what could I do with the rest?
So, I've only had the game a few days and have gone through my lumps, but I think I'm getting better and play primarily with Rook. After watching what opposing Rooks were doing well against me, I changed up my build/item strat and have had better luck. I don't know if this skill order is best though...or items really. My goal is to have tons of health and armor and occasionally run someone down. Favor: Blood of the Chosen Items(prob in this order): Banded Mail, Vlemish Facegua
Agreed. We actually played together today, Esuzu and even though I think you were better than our other teammate and myself you handled it pretty well. So, thanks. :)
Unranked would solve a lot of my growing pains. The thing is, I learn quickly and am a pretty good teammate, but it seems like people's idea of helping out new players is to harass them, bitch and moan and then announce to everyone playing that you're a failure at life because you can't figure out the game's nuances in an hour.
I just got this today. I really am enjoying it so far, but am new, of course. I'm trying to read up on tactics and such but people seem to expect a little much out of new players. I guess I'll try the Pantheon and keep plugging away. It would be nice to meet some cool folks and play while talking things out on Vent. I could prob learn a lot more that way.
