This is silly. You guys are all welcome to your opinions on whether P2P or Client/Server is superior, but blanket statements like "Demigod will never be good because it is p2p" is a giant load. I only need to point to this games closest sibling, Supreme Commander, to rule out that whole line of thinking. These techs both have pros and cons, trade offs and limitations. RTS games have traditionally used p2p systems for a lot of reasons that, when you compare

Well someone is going to have to start creating icons for new favor/shop items. You'll have a place to contribute :)
Thank you Bman for updating this. Best UI mod yet.
I commented last week that I hadn't been playing any DG until the 1.2 patch came out. I figured there was a substantial number of people, like me, waiting for the patch. The new DG's are obviously a draw, but I think the real appeal is the modding support coming online. I've noticed several dormant modders from the beta days resurfacing. If dev support for the game stays strong, modders start getting their groove on and holiday sales come together this game cou
Sweet! It's like the beta days all over again, thanks Chirmaya. [e digicons]^_^[/e] On archives, yeah, .zip handling by windows is definitely much improved from xp. Still imo you gotta have 7-zip or winrar loaded up by default.

Carmack is joining the ever growing fold. I like my xbox, enjoy the online experience it offers, but the matchmaking system it employs will never trump the classic pc method. Game devs are gearing up for a war with PC gamers if they think they can make this trend stick. I've never been inclined to use it, but if the whole FPS market consolifies even the matchmaking, Hamachi type systems are going to explode. In the end, piracy will still exist, probably even expand in
Since the alternative is so far off into crazy land, I assumed the moment I read the new notes that TBO's take was what it meant.
I'm waiting for 1.2 before I hop back in.
To address the OP, If I'm still playing, I'll pay. The reason for me is simple. The amount of detail that goes in to each one of these creations is considerable. Quite simply, they are frickin expensive to make. So the choice before us is: no new DG's ever (barring expansion pack) or we pay for new ones. The amount of money they would blow creating a detailed model, skins, animations, skillsets, voice overs, play testing.. it's just too much to be free. If
I'm amazed sometimes at people who think their perspective on gaming is the only valid one... Yes, shocking I know, but most people play games singleplayer only. Even in a game like DG, if it has a SP mode, it's going to see more use. LAN play should also not be ruled out. Quite a few gamers view DG as the ultimate lan game, it runs very smooth with 0 latency and it's quick to pick up the basics. I also wonder how many others are like me, not playing much lat
That this discussion needs to be had, and so frequently, is not a good thing. Personally, I think much of this stems from people taking their stats way too seriously. Enjoy the game win or lose, and look to educate newer players. You might just find it more enjoyable that way. [e digicons];)[/e]

But with the adjustment to Gauntlets of Despair this might make for a viable combo. Now you can use WP for an opening shot, do a bit of damage and drain then auto attack with the gauntlets causing further drain. It might not be worth the sacrifice of
I agree there is some truth to the premise of this thread. I don't agree with the specific example of BotF though. I only have one build that uses that, which is my health stacking Sedna. I want so much hp that I only need my priests healing me to keep going. Outside of that there are so many better options depending on the DG you're playing. There are still far to many useless items, and favor items in particular could use a going over.

Yep, good stuff. Sorian joining GPG in an official capacity is great news. He's the best modder SupCom had, and knows GPG's games inside and out. Now that he has access from the inside it can only bring good things for future patches. [e digicons][/e]
That's too bad, Frogboy. I tried this today, after getting the hang of it I was impressed. The lack of health is certainly made up for with the evades. I think I'll be playing a bit more erebus now :)
I went pure healing when I played sedna.
I too go for a healing build, but the items play a big role. With Sedna my goal is to avoid having to use heal on myself all that often, saving it for allies or simply rarely using it, because it burns through mana too fast if it is spammed. My build focuses on her passive strengths by stacking HP, armor and HP regen along with her natural regen (inner grace + heal
Chirmaya is very good, but you'll notice that what he created is a static object with no animation. Without Granny I don't think he can get much more done than that.
Demigod is "moddable" but it is currently severely limited. A patch coming soon will open it up considerably. Adding new DG's will be difficult no matter what. If you don't have Granny creating new models will be impossible.
I'm also curious about the Sedna build you went with Froggy. She's been my favorite DG for awhile now and I've never felt I should have gone with another, regardless of who my opponents were or the number of players. The game is excellent though. It's just due for that shot of new content, once those DG's start rolling out I expect to see the game get its second wind.
I'm failing to see the irony..
I like it HR, will try it out soon. [e digicons]k1[/e]
So... due to homophobia ball should be excluded from the name? [e digicons]:|[/e]
