It has been my observation that if you want a quicker resolution to a bug that you've tracked down specific LUA code for, post it to GPG's forums. The Sedna priest bug was known for months, we got almost immediate response when it was posted there. I've seen similar results on a couple of other older bugs too. Also, its so much easier to track things over there, forums don't move nearly as fast as they do here.
We seemed to lose anyway so I minimized Demigod and started playing WoW. Because demigod needs large ressouces for an strategy game my pc went quite slow and after some minutes I was droped. In my case it was not intentional but I still would do it again (playing WoW in a horrible game). So perhaps he didn't caused the lag on purpose too?
... What?
I'm a little baffled by the banning of Shadow. IMO, he is completely right. I've spent most of my time playing in pantheon or custom pugs, but that is only because there is very little to encourage me to play any other way. I've avoided joining clans because I see little point for it with no in game support. I would love to join one and get into some good team play, as that is where this game shines, but until the support is there I'll stick to pugs and pantheon.
This is good news. I'll probably get more involved with discussions here again. I really enjoyed posting here during beta but things got so far out of hand I pretty much stopped.
I just ran into this last night. Is this new with v1.1, or has it always been there and I just got (un)lucky? Either way, it's incredibly lame. It very likely cost me a close game.
Could you tell me more about the UI changes you want to see? Has someone already made a mod? Obviously, if people want to mod the LUA and have us take a look that would make things easier to get in.
In addition to Bman, Chirmaya has made some nice UI mods as well. This one is a good example: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/353194
I couldn't agree more, especially regarding modding. I think this should take priority even over additional content. Allow mods and create a repository for us to upload to in Impulse, please. [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
Don't know if this is a known bug or new to 1.01. Upon the start of a new Pantheon Tournament, should you decide to switch sides, the game will still have selected the last DG you used from the previous tournament. In my case, I was FoL and decided to go FoD only to find that Sedna was still selected. The game had no problem with this and launched me into a match with her. At this point I could choose to stick with her for the remainder of the tournament which
I find this idea terrible personally. It generally takes me much longer than 3 minutes before I realize my team is full of noobs and I don't want to play with them. But if I get a bunch of disconnect% I will be kicked from lobbies-- so I won't be able to play.. despite having purchased the game =/. So now, in situations where I currently would leave and be able to play another game and enjoy demigod I will be stuck. First thing that comes to my min
Also, I can't think of a single game I play that uses P2P
This must be your first RTS game. In that case, welcome to P2P gaming, its been around a long time.
ah, that goes a long way towards explaining the problem with stats.
No, you really don't qualify for it but like I said, for you, I'll make an exception as long as you never buy anything from us again.
This is why I like you and your company. [e digicons][/e] and of coarse all that other stuff you guys do like support your games properly.
I appreciate what you are saying and yeah, I had a game go that way yesterday. None the less, I can't think of a better approach than what has been offered up. If the majority of my team wants to call it quits, then I'll just have to accept that.
Best case scenario, you got a mild chuckle out of this thread. And by thread, I mean the video.
Zing. If I wanted to engage in 4chan style "humor" I'd go straight to the source. I will keep the video, the rest can be safely disposed of in the nearest recycle bin.
And a light finaly appears at the end of this long dark tunnel.
I love those graphs, incredible! Keep up the good work Gunslinga! [e digicons]k1[/e]
They'll be adding all that good stuff soon. Don't you dare take away my PUG Pantheon mode though.
Quoting ZehDon, reply 23 If your in America, for example, and you connected to an Australian game your 'ping' would be higher than everyone elses and possibly outside the acceptable range. You'd have the bad 'ping'. It's entirely situational. Gee, that's insightful, really, thank you for that, bravo. And thank you for not reading the entire thread, oh and thanks for taking the cheap shot at Americ
Do not listen to VyperXXX, as he said himself, he has NO IT experience. Spooky is exactly right. Demigod performs nearly identical to Supreme Commander when it comes to ping and latency issues. Anything under 350 is going to be fine. Even 400 should be fine. It's not the ping that is the issue, its how stable a ping is. If someone has a ping of 150 but it isn't stable, and it spikes all over the place, you are going to have stuttering.
Everytime I stop by this forum the quality of its citizens seems to have eroded further.. [e digicons][/e]
OP, I think your complaint is misguided here. This mechanic needs to remain the way it is. The deterent and difficulty in taking down a citadel is sufficient in the other modes. There are sound arguments for keeping it this way too. For instance, in slaughter, the enemy team can draw out the game nearly indefinitely by camping the health crystal once they start to lose.
UB is easy to handle as Sedna unless he's being fed by others.
We had this in the beta from a mod by Chirmaya, it was great. If they hadn't disabled UI mods from working online, we would have this feature right now.
Sedna is one of my favorites, and yes, she is very powerful when played right. I have a couple tips for opening play as this is where I see a lot of new sedna players mess up. Early game one of her biggest advantages is staying power, especially against assassins. Right off the bat I go for two things. lvl1 priests and heal. Early game this lets you stay in the action, while others are forced to retreat to the health crystal, you ar
This would never be a problem if the warpstone hadn't been nerfed to uselessness. I felt this was a valid tactic in the beta and since everyone could do it, it was fair. Now warpstone can't reach that far, meaining only Erebus can accomplish this. I don't agree with removing the portal flag, I think the map is fine like this. Give warpstone its range back and leave it at its current price.
