Awesome. This "crack" must not be very wide spread. I haven't been able to find a seed of it at all. The few who do pop up with it will make great entertainment [e digicons]:banhammer:[/e]

What pirates? My cursory search of popular torrents yielded no hits for Demigod at all. So we have a few people who bought the game early, that's all. Most of you who haven't gotten in will be playing tonight, tomorrow by the latest. I will never understand why people take a game so seriously they are about ready to /wrist over it.
I have a fever...
Some of the posters around here recently have been quite.. short sighted in all this. This is a good bit a news though, I hope it holds true as this could really open up other publishers eyes. You guys have done right by me though, thanks for making such a great game!
Yes, they would. I'm under the impression most of those who got it early from GS weren't in the beta so they are probably just getting their feet wet. You'll get the most useful feedback once the testers get into it on Monday in my opinion.
I'm selfish.
Why don't you just say what you mean and stop hiding behind your BS? It's. three. days. If you feel so screwed over your life priorities need a serious adjustment. And for God's sake who the hell expects something to happen on Easter weekend!?
Single player wasn't enabled in the beta, so until Monday none of us can comment on it as we haven't played it yet.
It's pathetic. Gamestop screws Stardock/GPG and we have preordering beta testers canceling to screw them even more over a few days. Anybody canceling their preorder over a matter of 3 days is a poster child for narcissistic douchebaggery. I'll tell you what I'm doing about this. I'm taking myself off Gamestop's mailing list and blacklisting their stores if it turns out this was in any way intentional or malicious on their part.
I also experienced this.
Glad to have that cleared, it is both a feature and a bug :) I'm fine with playing outnumbered against real people as long as there is a ranking system placing the better player(s) on the right side.
If it makes you feel any better, you were playing against someone who is probably one of the top 5 players so far. He definitely does not cheat.
It can't be working as intended right now. There is no way a 3 vs 1 with myself, Horseradish and one other player against a single AI was by design.
Funny stuff. I do want to point out though that playing a 1 vs X where some of the X are human and some AI can actually be to the advantage of the solo player, depending on the game mode. The AI is so incredibly stupid they are a easy money/xp. In addition being solo means all xp goes to one player. Put those together and the solo player can amass better items and a serious level advantage. Then add in some newbies on the other side who don't get the mechanics an

I always assumed this was a bug as it happens at random with seemingly no rhyme or reason. Not to mention I've had games where it was 3v1 where 2 of the 3 were real people against 1 ai.

I just hit shift+tab and dg froze up for a moment, then CTD with no error message. edit: Oh, I see it's already been fixed. Download: http://sd.stardock.com/ImpulseOverlay.zip and replace the file in the /bin directory of DG install.
I don't know about fog and such, but the reason for the flat terrain is due to technical limitations in the game engine. It seemed strange considering the terrain in SupCom, but if I remember correctly it had something to do with how DG maps are made, that a lot of the map is modeled and such. I remember Scathis explaining it but that was a long time ago and I can't find the thread.

I'm not certain, I thought I saw UB spit stacking, but I wont make that claim without specifically testing it. Certain things should absolutely not stack. TB and his shatter, slows from the same skill/item, etc. Things like spit however I feel should be allowed to stack, since it is only a DoT.
I'm playing on a machine I built in '06 and have the settings mostly at medium, with shadows off. It runs pretty well. Only really see lag issues when playing online which likely points to network bottlenecks not proccessing power. It doesn't need to be "professional" (outside of korea you can't really use that word), in fact 99% of people see e-sport not as serious thing but as fun hobby. The biggest starcraft clan league (BWCL) doesn't even have prizes at all yet there are thousands of people pl
Voice chat with overlay.
Per Brad, this is a feature that is coming soon to Impulse.
I am no fan of e-sports. I always found the idea laughable that playing video games could be construed as a sport. When things get to that level, players take the game way to seriously and all interest in having any fun goes out the window. Not that I'm against competition, I enjoy that a lot, but e-sports turn games into serious business when they really aren't. Having said that, I think this idea as a marketting stunt could really benefit DG by drawing mo
On "Crafting a large variety of different, not better items" making things more interesting, I couldn't agree more. It's how these items are made available that concerns me. I don't want to see "equal but different" items placed on a hard to reach pedestal. I think it should all be equally accessable, and with the current favor point system they are. I do think some kind of rewards should exist for high level players to set themselves apart, but again I think that shou
You're correct, tech. GPGNet had a lot of great features but it also required GPG, the developer, to maintain a pretty significant infrastructure that was only used in their own games. Impulse is being expanded to support everything that has been discussed in this thread (and more, Voice over IP, notifications from clan members, friends, etc.) all as an overlay. It's too timely and expensive for developers to
It's hit and miss. A couple days ago I was getting game after game with real people in it, then nobody. They are still tweaking it. I'm sure on release the odds of getting a real opponent(s) will increase considerably.
