Lol, never thought I'd see the day a Publisher's CEO would be invoking Godwins Law on his own forums! [e digicons][/e]

I don't think victory against AI's should have any affect on your ELO rating. They are like training wheels at best.

That is the limitation of IRC. You're not going to get integrated features like hot linking to game lobbies or replays with IRC. They are building all those features into Impulse. So far they've got a friends list, chat and the ability to see and join games. I'm sure we'll see that expanded as well. I like the convenience of the IRC approach for easy access to the chat room. I will agree with you though that it's going to severely limit GPG/Stardocks abil

Random, if the Favor items stay at their current cost, even the most casual player will have the ones he likes unlocked within a day or two. The casual player doesn't need every favor item unlocked to enjoy the game. He'll pick the ones that appeal to him and go. But if you put items out there that he can't even get to, THAT is what chases him away. Kestrel, I don't think it works using a couple FPS' to make the point about unlockable items. In CoD a burst shot

Observer mode was available early on in the beta but they removed it. It was a feature from Supreme Commander so it should already be fully supported. Replays are another thing SupCom supported, you could search them through GPGnet. It was a great way to study how the pros played. I hope they bring back both features.

Pardon, but what makes the irc chat "crap"? I mean, if they want to do their own GPGnet style lobby, that's fine by me, but I don't seen any issues with the current one. In fact what's great about the current approach is I can reach it no matter where I am in the game, which I can't say for any other game I've played.

List pretty much sums up what we can expect. I will add this though, #15 is going to dwarf all other complaints, and rightfully so, since they will mostly be legitimate. I haven't had a chance to play the new 3E, so that may help, but at this point I will be amazed if they've got the connection issues worked out for the majority of us by launch. Oh, as to cheating/hacking, outside of abusing glitches

I've had mixed findings so far. Custom games seem to be as difficult as ever to get going, if not more so. On the other hand, I've had a lot more luck this last weekend getting an actual opponent (even 2!) in Pantheon games.

Yes, CTF would be a great fit for the game. I can already see teamwork involving a runner stacked with +speed, covered by a QoT with brambles and Oak throwing out a timely shield while TB is stunning and slowing interceptors.

The point is that if you want options tailored to your preferences you should play custom games. Certain game modes need to have the settings locked. I realize you were stating that you felt favor items are bad, period. But I think the general consensus is they are liked by most players in their current form, so having them on by default for locked game modes is appropriate.
I'm gonna strongly disagree with this one. Any ambushing that exists right now is a result of limited LoS. Personally longterm I'd like to see a more dynamic FoW that allows hiding at close range - maybe behind neutral buildings built for the purpose. More ambush elements would really raise the ceiling. Taking away the limited ones we have currently turns the game into checkers.
Agreed. OP I

I would suggest a neutral creep in the form of a large bullfrog. This frog should be difficult to kill, have 0 offensive capability, and be able to leap great distances, over the void perhaps, from flag to flag. Killing this frog will result in the desired treasure drops [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] [e digicons][/e] ...started as a joke but, hey, that doesn't sound half bad does it? :)

Innociv is stating exactly what I was warning against, and it is a legitimate concern. It's easy to say "they just have to make these unlockable, DG specific items balanced" it's something completely different to actually pull it off. This is a very fine line to walk, done right, it adds to the game, no doubt about. It is so very easy to screw up that the idea makes me nervous. If the reward for pulling off these achievements was nothing more than fluff: <

Allied Demigods Portraits If there were one new feature that could be added at launch, this one should be it imho! Trying to click on someone in the middle of a chaotic melee (who isn't a rook) is so frustrating I've just avoided playing any kind of support role.

I'm not sure why everyone here is so focused on derailing discussions by calling Innociv a troll. I've found his comments here to be accurate, by and large, and his opinions are, well, opinions. I didn't know it was trolling to have a viewpoint on a game that you don't agree with. RaveBomb, whether or not you agree with the play to win crowd, they are very important, especially to a game like Demigod. This game is built from the ground up for competitive online

Harsh Sevenix, but true. Still, the rooks not too far from being balanced, but allowing him to land right on top of you out of nowhere is going to ruin ANY other DGs night real quick. Bringing a friend is simply overkill. The teleporting mechanic can't be left as is, but if the wrong change is put in place it will make it worse. TBO dissects the proposed changes pretty damn well. The introduction of silence/immunity timers has a whole ton of annoying side effec
OK so after a bit of discussion I'm thinking the best solution, rather than totally altering game balance with teleport debuffs, would simply be to have a telltale when someone is teleporting to a location that starts when they begin the cast (or if that is too much 3 seconds from arrival). That way the offensive player sees the port coming and can escape the gank or set up ambush if necessary, but doesn't have huge advantage Also

I think these are some good ideas but I would be catious here. As an example, your "hit all 5 DGs with one hammer slam" to gain an achievement that unlocks a favor item. If it turns out to be a a highly desirable favor item, you'll start to see the sort of behavior I frequently run into on xbox live. Many gamers on xbox are so focused on getting their achievement points (no cool items usually attached either) that people set up games for the sole purpose of farming them. I d

No ganking huh? Tell that to the Rook & TB squad I ran into yesterday. TB warps in and freezes me, rook walks up and performs either a roll+slam or slam+roll. Either way, my ass is toast. Ganking is in the game and yes it requires that you purchase gear, which is fine I think.
