DoWII gives me ... 20 Marines vs. 20 Eldar vs. 30 Orcs vs. 30 'nids. Its not massive. Its not even huge, or big. I wouldnt even call it a battle. Its a skirmisch at most. In addition the cover system is so watered down, its useless. The second i notice my position is attacked, its already overrun. For me its a huge letdown
Most marine/eldar armies for me are about 15-20. Ork

In the end, I'm all in favor of competition. I just wish these games/systems would become Apple/Linux friendly. The new up comer helping the new up comers. :)
Me. :(
After updating it won't let me login for some reason. Keeps saying my username or password is incorrect. I checked my capslock key and everything... Oh well, time for a night on the town anyways, I'll try again tomorrow. Really looking forward to pwning some nubs.
Is it bad that this post turned me on?
Good to know. Will be nice to see if I'm as good as I think I am when the net code is improved. :)
not sure.. the game is not luring me in. It seems constant and not enough strategy to actually make this a competitive game. Not good.
Same. After playing each hero 2-3 times, I don't feel like there is that there is much (if anything) more to learn. The maps surely do not take any time to master. Everything is feels flat, easy and predictable. Theres a correct way to play each hero
The levels in demigod are very bland, though I do like the stylization. They just need more complexity. Completely symmetrical maps become hard on the eyes after a while, and not having to "learn" maps is going to hurt replay value. Also noteworthy is that players can modify the map of DOTA by destroying trees. Theres an item to eat a tree and some heroes destroy trees en mass (force of nature). I would rather draw ideas from dawn of war's or W
Why can't we focus on helping make the game good rather than titles? Who cares if its RTS, RTT, RTTS, RPG with RTS elements or any other genre? Let just make it fun. Also, why do all of the generals have to have the same mechanics? The more unique the heroes are, the better in my personal opinion because that means theres more likely to be a hero that fits a playstyle that I enjoy. I am strongly in favor of having 1 hero that play much more RTS like.
First, players need to be able to control their units separately from their demigods. After that is done, I suggest making demigods all unique and play differently from one another. I really hate the idea of having to spend money to buy items to spend mana to buy troops. I also hate the idea of there being troops that are not unique to each hero. Why not just blur the line between assassins and generals and get rid of the names "assassins" and "generals"? With th
I'm up for one. Let me know date/time (remember to include time zone).
I would love to see the maps become much, much more complex. If for nothing else, for the aesthetics. Completely symmetrical maps are hard on the eyes after a while. Strategy wise there are room for improvements as well. Height advantages, line of sight blockers, spell blocking terrain (not sure if the engine allows for this), move slower in water, and even destructible terrain. If you want to get really fancy, some heroes could freeze rivers maki
5. Another idea: They already announced they were going to split $$ up between gold and warfunds. Gold is for buffing your hero, warfunds are for buffing yoru citadel. What if gold *only* comes from kills on troops/players and warfunds only comes from flags on the field? Gives a whole new RTS aspect never seen before. Just an idea
I was able to reproduce this in 3 games, so now posting. Also noteworthy is that one of the times, Unclean Beast was doing his stun/life drain thing on me. I managed to kill him with the snipe before the stun was over. I remained unable to move until someone killed me. I could still use skills and target other players though.
I'm not sure what triggers it, but I just had a game where Oak became permanently invulnerable. It was a computer, so it kept running into our base, capping all of our flags, then running away. Wish I could have saved the replay so that I could see what caused it.
Eh, I have a build that I consider good where I go blizzard and fireball. Blizzard the hell out of units/heroes as they approach, switch to fire for the mana regen and to nuke a hero, then back to frost to blizzard him again as he runs.
Erebus is good if you don't build any units, just focus on bite, bats and stats. Can run in, bite a hero, hit him a few times. When he starts to run, bat across in front of him and bite him again. After getting 2 good breast plates and some good gloves/rings, I was able to kill even the rook doing this, my health simply didn't go down because I vamped soooo much. Units aren't good enough right now to be built by either hero in my opinion.
I think the game should be way, way more rewarding to skilled players. Right now a piss poor team can hold out against a fantastic team. A poorly played hero stands a chance against a well played hero. And each fight/kill does not feel like it impacts the game very much. Here are my ideas to improve such: 1. Improve the interface. Right now if I'm a general, I don't know what what troops I have selected, if they're fighting, if there others I'm not
I agree with not being able to recognize what you have selected. Though I think I would prefer a WoW or other mmorpg interface when it comes to playing as assassins. Being able to see your health, the health of who your targetting is, and a way to recognize when they're casting spells much easier is necessary. I don't want to derail the thread to much, but one of my major complaints is that there isn't easily a way to seperate people of different skill levels based up on t
I would like to see creep's damage get upgraded much faster/stronger than their health. It helps make the demigods more importants in the fights with AOE attacks, and it makes them more deadly against buildings as the game goes on. I also agree with the OP about slowing people down. In my personal opinion, make the crazier boot speed increases effective out of combat only. Or have a hero with a slowing debuff (aura, targeted or otherwise) completely nullify the effec
I know you guys generally want all bugs listed seperately, but I felt these were too small to need their own threads. If you still want these as seperate threads, let me know. All games show up as Leviathan in the internet game listings, no matter what map is actually selected. If you join a game, the internet games listing still shows up in the background of the game lobby. Its faint, but you can see it. If you host a game and alt+tab while
I reproduced bug 3x in a row, so posting it now. If you host game and then click on the character icon to choose your character, the game room's slots stay up preventing you from fully seeing the assassin characters.
If I pre-order now, what are my chances of getting into the beta? EDIT: if applicable, are there other ways to apply for the beta? I fished around ont he website for about 20 minutes but couldn't find any details beyond "If you already pre-ordered you're in, if you pre-order in the next week you may still get in" from back in Septemberish.
