Regulus' popularity is a direct consequence of his ease of use and strength After playing torchbearer a bunch of times and getting to know him, I player regulus once and did MUCH better with that character. The super long range attack and great vision together make him pretty much 'easy mode'. In terms of flavor I find him by far the least appealing character. My guess is that people are all playing him for one or more of the following reas
I keep trying different demigods and alternative builds.\ Right now I love Queen of Thorns as a pure general. HOWEVER When playing multiplayer games the overwhelmingly popular choice seems to be regulus. This in of itself suggests that he is overpowered. Multiple regulus together on one team, if they coordinate, are a particularly deadly combination. Even playing well, its difficult to withstand such intense focus fire. I
This is not a skill to get at level 1. If you do so, expect t loose. Mid game, the middle rnaks of this skill are AMAZINGLY useful. Its the best AOE which you can cast from safety (except for regulus snipes). I do agree that in terms of flavor, I woudl prefer an ice storm that had a debuff as well/insead of a damage component. While we are at it, can the effects of the torchbeaeres passive aura be a bit more wide range?
I just died to a hole bunch of stuns. I agree it was nto fun. In general getting killed is not fun, esp if your temamtes are not behaving effectively.
After another half dozen games, I had a rematch vs a skilled regulus player. With a slightly different chouce of abilities for the Torchbearer, i was able to deny hi enough exp that Torchbearer RULED through the end (lvl 25 vs lvl 19). Regulus is great against those who do not now how to play, however, a deliberate 'anti-sniper' equipment build is highly effective. I stll think Regulus is strong, but now I worry that the Torchbeaerer is super-too-awesome
I wil join you today. Post here the tim eyou want to start and the name of the game. Many thanks, Ostragoth.
My Experience: I have played about a dozen games of beta 2. 3 games vs human opponents and the rest in cooperation with 1 friend against AI teams. Here are some of my observations: 1) Normal AI is too weak to be a challenge. Normal AI opponents are pretty weak, after playing just 2 games they no longer posed a threat UNLESS I was a low level melee hero. Just as in DoTA, low level melee heroes are quite vulnerable and can be easily
I have purchased the digital download and installed Impulse. How do I download the beta??? A link to instructiosn woudl be most useful. Many thanks, Ostragoth.
