Suggested Basic UI improvements in Galactic Civilizations IV GalCiv4 Forums

Hello! I'm a long time 4x player, and have played just about every Space 4x game out there. Galactic Civilizations IV has a lot of great elements to it, but there are some basic UI issues that I would love to see fixed in upcoming patches. Adjustable Mouse Wheel Zoom Speed (And why is Zoom Out faster than Zoom in?) Make it easier to see what is selected at distant zooms. Fleets, especially, are very hard to see which one is selected when zoomed out.

Thanks so much! The running of the font setup file and verification I had tried and didn't fix it. However, deleting the K2 files you mentioned I hadn't tried. Deleting those, then running the game forced it to recreate them, and they work! Now to try the rest of the game!

So I just bought GC3 on steam today, installed, and quickly realized a major issue. I can't see the text in the buttons on the UI! Text everywhere else seems fine. Makes i very hard to play. Updated my video card driver that was only a few months old to the latest from NVIDA. Reverified in steam. Uninstalled, rebooted, then reinstalled to a different drive (First and SSD, then an HDD). Looked on the forums and found the text installer in the GC3 directory, ran that, no help.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I have been away. Carbon016, I have waited far longer than 30 seconds each time, and it still disbands. I have attempted to setup my router, and though all the settings are correct, I cannot host, even if I set my IP as the DMZ. Don't understand why, but it just won't work. Blair, if a patch could be made to do as you suggest, it would be the best improvement possible on this game, as it is otherwise awesome! Thanks.

What is wrong with the way this game is made! One person leaves, and the whole game is gone. Why can't this game find a new host? Is it that poorly designed. I have played about 7 multiplayer games, 4 of which ended because someone left and the game stops. Then it just says everyone leaves, becuase it cannot find a new host or whatever the reason might be. This is rediculous. Starcraft didn't have this issue 10 years ago, why should this game now? I feel I have wasted $40 on this g
