I don't know how to tell you this but.... ALL software is rented. Even your OS if you read the licensing. It's not fun, it just is. Even hardware is problematic. I have to trash a pefectly good scanner because the company will not make a 64 bit driver for it. So in reality, NOTHING is forever.
