Was playing fine all evening, a game locked up while connecting to players during a skirmish... had to ctrl-alt-del to desktop. Tried to log back in, and got the "invalid username and/or password" error, even though both my username and password have been saved and haven't changed. Tried retyping in the information, and still no luck.

Excellent that this post has been stickied, huzzah!
Yep, at least, it's in the manual. Page 10, under portals, "You team will recieve experience each time a unit appears through the portal." Unless that refers to the War Score, which I kind of doubt, then yeah, you gain XP from your own troops, apparently. However, it might be hard to notice if you play in a large 4v4 or 5v5 game, where it would be divided among 5 players. Or something.
Whoa, that is something that I've com
Archiving creates an install file, so to speak. To install the game from the archive file, launch impulse, then click on the orb located in the top left. Then select the option "restore archive", or something along those lines. I never bothered with an archive, and just an install. An archive is handy, though, if you want to pass around the game at a LAN (but be aware, the archive is specific to the operating system, so if you archived it in Vista, i
I believe the fire aura only affects your allies, so your speed is not increased. It only adds to your basic damage after the first level.
Fire aura also increases the Torchbearer's movement speed. This is easily verified by opening your character information pane which shows your movement speed. Toggle fire mode on and off, and you will see the speed increase there.
This would completely destroy the game. No offense, but terrible idea.
There is an item (potion) that removes all negative effects from you - will get rid of that nasty dot. Regulus is kind of a slow bloomer, but once you get the third rank of the mines and mark of the betrayer, Regulus starts to get the upper hand against the Unclean Beast, in my experience.
Brad, keep the updates coming! Part of me always wishes that I became a game developer, and reading these update posts is very insightful, and helps give an inside look on how the development process really operates. In short, it is extremely satisfying hearing things straight from the "horse's" mouth, as opposed to marketing and PR telling us what they think the horse meant to say.
Very useful tips - even for someone like me who has been playing since the first phase of the beta! I really can't help but emphasize the importance of playing defensively, and not feeding kills to your opponent. In the early to mid game, have a defensive mindset. You shouldn't really switch to "offense mode" until you clearly have the upper hand, and have started to push a lane.
Greatly appreciate these daily updates Frogboy. I would also like to echo DalzK by saying that a replay system would be most appreciated!
If someone doesn't like Impulse, what's stopping a person from going out to a brick and mortar store and buying a copy there. Ever heard of that game called World of Warcraft? Last time I checked, it wasn't on steam.
I've been in a few incredible comeback games. However, a concede button would be very nice.
Nice to hear that he's re-reviewing the game at a later date. Honestly, a C is fair for the current state of the game.
Pretty sure it costs 14,000 gold. Plus it's got a passive +50 damage, which isn't too shabby, either. :)
Crucible is a terrible map - I wouldn't even mind playing the 2v2s so much if a different map was actually played. I for one, wouldn't mind waiting an extra minute to get more players going for a 3v3 / 4v4, or whatever. Enough with the 2v2s!
A pre-order download version of the game was also supposedly a collector's edition. What are the collector's edition goodies through the download version? So far they haven't been very apparent. (btw, any eta on when the upgrade to retail box from digital download will become available?)
Thanks for the update - hopefully things get all ironed out soon.
With a digital download version of the game, is there an easy way for me to pass this game around at a LAN? I am hoping that I don't have to log onto my impulse account on everyone's computer, and downlaod the 2+ Gig file from the internet for every occurrence. Is there a way to take my downloaded copy of Demigod and burn it onto a CD, or is there an install file or something that I can transfer over the LAN?
Is Leaf free to use software? I've never even heard of this product before (though I'm familiar with Hamachi).
Considering that you're only controlling one unit, the game really isn't that micro intensive that an attack-move order should be needed. Besides, it is becoming fairly common to use wasd as movement keys, as they are a lot more practical to use than the cursor keys, considering the location of all of the other key bindings. With respect to focus attack, what do you mean exactly? How does this differ from right clicking on a unit?
The discrepancy between normal and hard is too insane. In normal I could win matches within about 10 minutes, stomping the computer into dust. On hard, I have yet to win a match, as all of my ally bots feed levels and gold to my opponent, and I slowly start to lose map control.
Even in slaughter mode with the crazy citadel, getting giants tends to work wonders at smashing that thing to pieces.
Your favor points do not reset, nor do the items that you have bought with favor points. For example, those speed boots you bought with favor points in the single player will always be available to you, from now on.
Wow, my Oak is a damage-dealing beast now...
Excellent news - great to hear that this was implemented on it's "official" street date :P
