I was trying to create a custom game this morning, but I was unable to. There were also no other custom games being listed in the custom games list, at this point in time. I have not yet had a problem creating a game, however, when I tried this morning I got this error message: HostGame in CVP failed. <img src="htt

As it stands, the citadel upgrade which provides the team with extra gold per second is far too weak, considering its cost. Specifically speaking, the late war rank upgrades cost too much for their benefit. The first level of this feature is unlocked at war rank 3, and costs 1,800 gold. This provides a benefit of +2 gold / second to the entire team. In other words, it will provide 1,800 gold to each member of the team, after 15 minutes. ----
One thing was wasn't too clear in your post - do you want to know this information if we are having problems, or would you also like this kind of information if we are not having any problems?
Frogboy already posted about this - and said all updates between now and retail launch will only focus on the netcode.
This week's tip of the week was very helpful - I really had no clue what war scores related to which war rank. :) Ideas for future tips of the week: - Minion idols (difference between the idols at different levels, when to buy them, etc) - When to use capture locks on flags (and when not to?) - Often overlooked items - When to capture neutral portals; does capturing them early provide an experience bonus to your opponents?
Was a good video - would certainly be helpful for people who have never heard of Demigod or DotA before.
This is definitely a problem with Demigod's gameplay. Frankly, I'm surprised more of these threads haven't been popping up around the forums. It will be interesting to see how the rebound items will change the stunning mechanic, but I still fear that the team with the most co-ordinated stuns will win the match.
[BUG / ERROR] When I am looking at my player profile, and I click on the tab for custom games, I get an error. This is a link to the page that has the link: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/12220/overallstats This is the broken link: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/12220/customgamestat
Well written article. Explains quite a bit about the game, and does so without rambling on for pages about how awesome the game is going to be (as is typical for marketing articles).
Any hints at what the upcoming changelog might include? If we know what changes are upcoming, we may be able to provide more salient feedback, based on the current state of the game.
I'll try to be there - sounds like it could be fun :)
Hahaha, wow - can't believe that this bug hasn't been pointed out until now :) Was this just a display bug, or did you actually see more gold go into your coffers?
It seems to me that you are asking kind of a pointed question. No matter what the response, Gas Powered Games / Stardock is not a community based project, and as a result, I'm sure their answers will fall short of what you are asking - even if they say exactly what you want to hear. As Frogboy has pointed out, the best thing you can rely on is Stardock's history with games, and their support that they have maintained for them. I imagine that the support for Demigod will be
When joining a 3v3 game last night, as the 6th player to join, I hung at "NAT traversal in progress" for what seemed forever, then it would cycle back to beginning NAT traversal, and back to the traversal in progress. Once the game was re-hosted and I was the 2nd player to join, I had no problem getting in. Furthermore, late in the game the game hung for what seemed to be about 1 minute. During this time all players were able to chat, but no units moved about the fiel
I personally believe that both games will be able to co-exist, and in a weird way, one game will help support the other by making this genre that much more known and played outside of the regular dota community. For example, some guys are command & conquer guys, some guys are starcraft guys, but both RTS games co-existed well with each other, and even though some people who were new to the RTS genre may not have liked command & conquer, they may have found their fit with st
Great work - very helpful list!
Thanks for the reply. Another quick question - is there any type of progress bar to see how close your side is to achieving the next war rank?
The one aspect of this game that still has me scratching my head is the so-called war rank in this game. How exactly does it work? In other words, how do you level up your war rank? Is it just a matter of earning gold for the team, experience for the team, spending gold on citadel upgrades, or what? I apologize if this newbie topic has been answered before, but the search function did not reveal any threads.
If anything, this just shows that the AI knows how to play an Assassin better than a General.
In the latest Demigod build as of March 12, 2009 (3C, I believe), I hosted a 5v5 custom game, and filled the other nine slots with computer controlled Normal AI. I attempted to pause the game through the menu, however, the game continued to play in the background, despite me hitting pause. Furthermore, I was not able to get rid of the menu blocking the centre of my screen, so I was forced to exit the match completely.
Aside from buffing minions, I believe that that as the minions actively kill creeps, they the experience & gold from those defeated creeps, towers, etc, are transferred to the general, no matter how far away from the action the general is. In this case, the General can be doing his thing in one lane, while his minions are supporting a second lane. As such, the General is able to generate experience and gold from both lanes. Of course, this would onl
Age of Conan - terrible all around Command & Conquer 3 - C&C Generals was a much better game, all around. Hellgate London - if it played more like Diablo, while trying to be less of an MMO, it would have been great (minus the bugs too, of course...)
