Difficulty Levels in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

Hello community, I was originaly a sceptical player but since then i have become in love with this game. My question is what effect do the Difficulty levels have on the AI game play.?? DO they add resources, extra ships, ect.... I currently play on normal but im leaning towards hard but i dont want to play a mode that cheats to make it challenging.

I play EAW:FOC religously, I played all the homeworld titles i play X3... and now SINS... Sins by far IMHO has the most depth as an empire building game than any of the other three. The economy in X3 tho outshines SINS by far.
