Steam saw an update, installed it and new and old games now load move at normal speed. There is no hanging. Whatever changed, thanks.

I am only playing 3 AI civs. Weird, it was faster anyway before the December update.
I don't play the game regularly, so I haven't played since December. Yesterday, I opened Steam made sure GalCiv updated and tried to play. New games and old saves are VERY slow. Truthfully, it is like someone left "debug mode" on for the release of the update. Peter
Is there anyway to report an issue from in the game? Submit logs etc. I tried restoring a V2.1 game save, very slow. Tried making a new game very slow. I have updated my video drivers, my computer isn't that old and has 32 GB of RAM. Peter
Monitor 1, 2560 x 1600 at 125% Monitor 2, 4096 x 2160 at 200% Screen shot below is what happens when I click the start button on the right side.
Is your configuration 100% on each monitor? The second monitor is configured with at least 150%. These problems do not usually happen due to resolution alone but when scaling comes into play.
No change. It is not the installation, it is the software, it just can't handle multi-monitor situations with various scaling options.
I recently switched from classic start menu to Start10. Classic start menu decided to stop development. I have 2 monitors (high resolution with scaling). Monitor 1 start button shows the menu nicely, but Monitor 2 shows the menu in the upper right hand side of Monitor 1 instead of right above the taskbar where you would expect it. I configured a number of right hand site items to "Display as menu", but when clicked, it can cause variable delay in displa
I haven't played the game since 2.5, I have opt-in configured so I am on 2.72. The start menu remains visible after loading the game. I have tried alt-tab, alt-enter alt, but nothing hides it. This might be a bug with 2.72. Is anyone else encountering this issue? Thanks Peter
Verify integrity of the game files, restart, set the resolution to max and the ui size to Large, resize once more and we are back to normal!
They applied a patch on the "opt in" path, and now the settings and dialogs are so big that I can reach the buttons in the options screen. It seems like they are doing something.
I usually have it set to Large. The Options screen shows the setting is Large. But the menu text are still small. Oh well, GalCiv 3 withdrawal here we come.
I am opting in for betas. I had version 2.5 yesterday and the graphics were great. Apparently, an update installed today, now the text is much smaller. I tried reseting the settings. I am not sure what else to do. I tried changing the UI size and resolution in various ways but I can't get back to the previous size. Is there something else I should look for? Peter
With 2.31, my 560 turn game crashes after clicking turn, getting a number of prompts, colonize option, new ships, and either trying to complete the colonization or not building anything and then trying to hit Save. Hopefully, the crash Hmm, choose not to colonize, and now it let me save... lets see how far I can get. Well that worked...
I am playing the computer with one opponent. I reached the malevolent stage where I could get 3 ships per planet for defense. I had about 130 planets so that is alot of ships considering what I already had. With 130 planets and probably twice as many starbases, the game crashes if I go to that tab. Peter
When the start menu shows up, I can't reach the "turn" button. I know something outside of GalCiv3 has triggered the start menu, but there should be a way to force GalCiv3 to the foreground without saving, exiting, reopen, loading the game. Thanks
