To update, I finally fixed this by uninstalling and re-downloading the game. Not as painful as I thought it would be as Stardock's servers are very quick.

Well, I did that. Now I'm back to not being able to get past the intro movie, and the game still won't update :| Edit: I just re-verified, and while I can now get past the intro movie now, I still can't update.

I've submitted a ticket to support too, even though their first recommendation is to use the forums. Just wish this had a feature like the Bioware forums where people can tell from your i
No, you believe the latter because cynical forumites like to assume the worst of people. Eeshk, this mentality never ceases to amaze me. I'll check out the Windows firewall settings, but I doubt that's it, as I don't even have an "Update" tab in Impulse. Edit: Nope, not Windows Firewall. Both Impulse and Demigod are on the exceptions list.
Whenever I start the game, after getting past the intro movie, the game tells me I need to update in order to play online. If I click "Update", demigod vaporises and Impulse just sits there doing nothing. I can click "Cancel" and play offline, but that doesn't really help with the whole multiplayer thing really. There's no option in Impulse to update the game, although I did find the option to update while in-game on the Impulse Overlay, but again, nothing. Compl
