Backups might me legal (in theory) but doing so if the product has DRM on it makes the act illegal thanks to the DCMA. So the whole system is pure bullshit and I will never submit to it and will continue to actively work against it whenever and where ever possible. Does the presence of the TSA mean the government considers every traveller a hyjacker? NO, these just mean there are POTENTIAL troublemakers in any given population, and those troublemakers don't conveniently sort themselves out.
You haven't bought anything from the store that employs anti-theft devices. All songs could still work but they'd only work on that computer. Ever. People who bought the music were forced to never upgrade that computer again or lose their music
(I think EA released figures that only 0.4% of people install over 3 times or something like that)
They said that less than 1% of users had activated Spore on 3 computers. What's troubling about this figure is that it was released about a week after the US release of the game.

The DRM isn't there to stop piracy, just fyi. It's there to stop the 2nd hand market. If you can only install a game 3 times then it's a coaster, then anyone buying it from you has to trust that you haven't coaster'd it yet.

They put the reviews up because it's probably the most effective way of communicating with the company that put the DRM on there (EA) since emails to their customer relations department are redirected to their "Spam" folder.

Will there be a LAN multiplayer only client? If not, can we get a LAN multiplayer only client? Edit: An idea, throw in a splash screen telling people where to buy the game when they exit. For people who don't know, I mean a client that can only play on LAN with no singleplayer. Apart from that restriction, it's free and the entire game.

RPGs (good ones like Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Arcanum... can't remember more atm :) ) followed closely by RPGFPS such as Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. FPSRPG (different to RPGFPS in that the FPS element comes first as opposed to roleplaying being centre stage) like System Shock and STALKER:SoC.

It should probably be a case of everyone at the company at the time of launch gets a mention under their appropriate title and everyone who worked on it (in-house testers, programmers, designers) who left before it launched gets put under a catch all title (Additional Programming/Testing/Designing). It just sounds like bad practice to not credit someone who worked on the game just because they aren't at the company when it launched.
If assassins are better than generals at killing the grunt units, I worry that assassins will have a substantial advantage in leveling-up.
This can be offset by the general getting a small XP bonus (Less than normal XP since you could have your units all across the map) from each enemy his units kill.

EULA's are not legally binding as I didn't have a chance to read it before money changed hands. I'm being forced to agree to conditions I didn't accept/know about when I bought the product just so I can use it.
CobraA1 saying stuff
Steam authenticates every game online whenever you try to run it. It also authenticates every third party mod that's released for free online. Meaning you can't play free third party mods (Dystopia, Zombie Master) at lans unless you've got an active internet connection (which the lans in my local area don't). What this also means is if Steam is screwing up, my games refuse to play. I would also like to link [link="http://consumerist.
Eh, Dragon Age looks a lot more like the BG2 I knew and loved than anything Obsidian's made. Don't get me wrong, I like NWN2, but we've had an expansion, they're working on the second and still very basic flaws and bugs remain in the game.Modders have done far more for it than the official guys who were paid to release a smoothly working final product.
I'm gonna place the blame for the bugs on Atari (Formerly Infogrames, horrible publishing company). They forced Obsidian
Kotor 2 was rushed, sadly, but it was still a good game... and we have no idea what they plan... they could go with a Guild Wars style storyline... separate worldspaces, missions done in small groups, or alone with bots.I'm sure it'll be good
Bioware didn't make KotOR2, that was made by Obsidian. They were rushed by Lucas Arts to get the game out in time for Christmas.

Cobra, your argument is fallacious. When I download a game, I'm not depriving the store of a copy for sale. A better equation would be if I could get a perfect copy of that Ferarri while letting the owner keep his car. Here's the way I see this whole piracy argument, from the view of someone who's been burned by DRM on several occasions. DRM is like telling someone who owns a power drill "Ok, you can only use this drill under these conditions, anything else and you can't use it
It will never be 80 and I honestly prefer 15 to 20 (just a guess) really different Demigods over 80 which play very similar in the end ; if you take a look at dota there are so many skills which are nearly duplicates.
The heroes have different combinations of skills, so the way to play 2 heroes, even though they might have a similar skill, the others are different and changing the way you play them.
