Sweet, a 'new' hero with all his skills ripped straight from DotA.

>>I thought so to. Ends up they are complete mana sinks, and any other favor item than BotF makes TB utterly unplayable. Just no.
I'd like to reiterate Shadow's thanks, Frogboy. He and I have played way too many games of Demigod together to not appreciate the effort put into it. We criticise because we love, and want to make better. For now, we've moved on to a game with more polish, but I personally look forward to seeing how Demigod improves. Cheerio
>>But do you know what this thread title appears to say at first glance to an English-only speaker? This made my night.
We should be ashamed of ourselves. But we're not.
>>Game developers, i.e. the people who balance the game, have to tweak the numbers. And do statistical analysis. Lots of time-consuming and somewhat boring stuff. But you just call it 'scrub talk'. Absurd, especially in a thread where everyone is assuming the role of amateur game developer. By 'number spouting', he means that Bob is simply taking one set of numbers completely out of context from the rest of the game, including the numbers and the situa
>>I think this post was kinda made as a joke...rather than shadow and his team flexing their muscles. Most people, including them, know that the comptetive ladder for custom games isn't a big deal. Pretty much, yeah. We really don't take ourselves seriously. =)
>Besides, games never last long enough for a hybrid build to stand a chance. ...I've won a huge chunk of my games with hybrid Torch. Regardless, this bug is pretty crippling in some situations where any other demigod would have no problem. It also makes Fire Aura almost completely useless.
+1 to pacov on account of his avatar being awesome.
Legitimate tactic, problematic only insofar as Erebus is insanely OP even without it.
To be fair, Shadow's streak should be like 140-something, except for one unfortunate crash. Him, Rapier, Rogdan, and Dustbin are probably 4 of (if not the) best players out there, and every game with 'em is entertaining as hell. Playing without your team proves nothing, as it fails to showcase one of the most vital skills of Demigod (teamwork), while putting the rest of the game options up for a gigantic lottery. We've played all the 'premades' that rose to the challenge,
Just for clarification, myself and my friends just spent an *hour* looking for a game because whiny assholes kept joining our game and leaving as soon as they figured out that we knew each other. Many had self-righteous comments about the unfairness of playing with people you know. Some waited for the game to fill up and then quit just to spite us, starting a snowball of leavers. Why do people have no self respect?
IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE, YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY WITH THEM. IT IS AGAINST THE RULES TO HAVE A TEAMMATE YOU CAN DEPEND ON. IF YOU SEE A PREMADE YOU SHOULD JOIN AND THEN LEAVE AS SOON AS A GAME GETS GOING JUST TO MESS WITH THEM
Yeah, we pretty much rule.
I play Erebus, and almost never lose with him. I'm good, but not that good- he's just too strong as a result of being able to ALWAYS choose the engagement.
I have an idea, guys! Let's remove the fog of war completely, so there's no more of this nonsense 'bluffing' tactic!
4 regulus team, take Heaven's Wrath. With a well coordinated team, you win. Yes, I've done it. Yes, it's nigh-unstoppable. The ability to turn the tides of battles from across the map, in addition to killing towers for free, is just too much. Regulus is not balanced.
Serpent's blade is about the only way that Torchbearer is playable though
Woohoo!
The item should be removed from the game entirely. The ability to duck back and heal fully within a couple seconds is just far, far too good to exist at all, and completely undermines a number of game mechanics like harassing. Also, if your speed is even marginally above that of another player, it allows you to run, heal AS THEY'RE WATCHING YOU, and come back for rape. The entire concept is totally flawed. If it *must* remain in the game, it should have a large cast tim
1. That's a problem with your build, then. I've been able to stack 5k HP with heal and pounce. 2. True, but priests heal sporadically and heal less than heal does, and they cost money that could be used for items (they are very cost efficient, though). 3. How do you figure? Unless you assume you have a lot more disposable cash than the enemy, you aren't going to have higher speed and more combat capability. An
NO DG is great against every DG.
Except Erebus.
The game is relatively very balanced for a release game. That being said: 1. Erebus is crazy imba. 2. Some demigods (eg TB, Regulus) simply don't have any means of dealing with UB's spit, and get autofucked without a support character assisting them. 3. Spells don't scale properly, so skill dependent characters get screwed in the lategame by autoattack. 4. Snipe spiking. Etcetera. It's pretty good, but the game is n
