We have had a report that the non-negative number error was due to AVG antivirus running in the background. The larger than expected error is also typical of firewall/antivirus/antispyware software running. I would suggest adding an exception for Impulse.exe within your security software if you have any. If you still cannot get anywhere, send us an email to [email protected] with your Impulse error log and your startup/dxdiag information. Information on how to do this can be found
Definitely a good thing you asked here first to avoid assured disappointment. For anyone thinking about going this route, play it safe and avoid the ebay route. With the serial on someone else's account you would never be able to get updates or to play online.
At present there is no other way around this aside from emailing us at [email protected] and have us do it. The method Hettikus described will not work as the serial number will still be associated with the account it is registered to, even if you remove it from your Impulse list of registrations.
